If you can buy buy lotions - try vaseline or lubriderm, but also use olive oil, almond oil, canola oil, any oil that you can rub into your skin for 5 minutes, and re apply 5 or 6 times a day. Wash gently. WArm water only. Do not use so much soap. Rub oil on immediately after bath and several times during day.

For you people who suffer with dry skin, try rubbing olive or almond oil into your skin at night. Try to use lotions without fragrance (they dry the skin) and add vaseline to the lotion and rub into skin for severely dry skin. People will eczema might find that PUVA (light) treatments help a lot. also people, I wouldnt be putting soap on my face or let shampoo get on my face. warm water is the best thing for dry skin. dont scrub and dont wash for a few days and see how that goes. NO SOAP!! they are mostly detergent based so unless you have had your head in the pig pen, you dont need a detergent on your face. Its killing the natural pigments. good luck!!

I have exzema on my arms and legs, which i went to the dr. for and got some cream. it works, but it will never go away. it just keeps the dry away. my face on the other hand gets SO dry during the change of seasons. i use cocoa butter cream and it helps. also, this may sound strange but it WORKS (and was prescribed by my dr.), use CRISCO or shortening in a can for your dry skin.

My TOP TIPS: if u are a gurl and your dark and/or have facial hair and spots do this - mix manchal (talcum powder) with yougurt and put it over your face and let it dry for like an hour and then wash it of with plain water and dont dry it off. I have recently discovered that applying desi ghee/clarfied butter/ is very helpful and it does wonders to very dry skin. Try Cheer Free & Gentle laundry detergent for washing pants. Also, Try Olay moisture rinse in shower body lotion. please do not attempt to lighten your skin. i am white and the problem is that the caucasian skin dries up so much faster and ages SO much faster than the asian skin. pigmentation is one reason but the researchers are trying to see other genetic reasons for this too. so hey ... do not be silly ... you do not want to look like me when you are 30 and full of fine lines and wrinkles ... if you have a dry skin then NEVER ever use soap! by a good cleanser for dry skin (or use oils) and preferably take it off with cotton balls and not with water. Dove dries the skin ... do not go with that. and put a bit of money in a good moisturiser ... it really helps!

I have a very dry skin on my face. Should i take steam on face? I have a habbit of taking steam on face so it relax me but after few hours i think my skin bocomes more diry. I am not sure wheater it becomes due to taking stream. please let me know about this. pls help

I very light brown skin, you can hardly call it brown but it's kind of brown.I tan quite well and I like that, but all of a sudden the skin of my arms got really dry and I have been getting white patches on my arms. hi, stop using all the soaps and creams on your face and neck. drink lots and lots of water, eat plenty of fresh and dried fruits ,specially sesame seeds and figs.use DOVE soap and cream OR Skin Success cream and soap. use soap twice a day in winter and three or four times in summer, other wise splash your face with normal tempreture water (not hot).to remove make up make a paste of yogurt and few drops lemon massage your face and neck and wash with water. use a nivea visage skin toner for dry skin apply after washing your face and then apply a good moisturise dont use NIVEA cream Nivea lotion will suit your skin condition. take GOOD care of your skin Or your skin will AGE soon.drink a glass of luke warm milk every morning ang night put 2 or 3 drops of olive oil to it. make cleansing a routine but dont use too much scrubs, for home made scrubs >>>>> tell me your skin type ( the kind of make up u use & your mums skin type) and i will tell u which one is good for u and how to make it...
