hi.. hope the info given by me will be helpful to women who are afraid taking abortion pills i was found 5 weeks pregnant n due to some personal issues i wanted to terminate my pregnancy,so i opted to take abortion pills.ofcourse wit consult of doc.. u need to hav one mifepristone pill first and after 48 hrs two two tablets of misoprostal in interval of 2hrs each. wen u hav the first tablet mifepristone,hopefully ul b fine.. but i had a kind of nausea after 14-15hrs.tats common.. dont worry.. some even dont experience this nausea too.. tak one vomiting tab ul b fine. after 48hrs of having first tab.. u need to hav 2 misoprostal tab.. and usually the bleeding starts 20-30 min after taking 2 miso tab.. but 4 me bleeding started after 90 min. hey guys ppl say ul hav pain like hell.. but i tell u the truth. u will hav pain but u can tolerate..its like usual normal periods but wit large clots.. yeah for me i had very very severe pain jus 4 5min after taking the pills.. but trust me it subsided after 10 min.. some may hav heavy bleeding.but 4 me it was a little more than wat i normal have.. after 2hrs u need to hav another 2 misoprotal tablets.. n wen u tak this ul hav normal bleeding.. yes the bleeding may last 4 several days.. for me it was 17days.. and ur baby wud hav been flushed out.. and do hav an ultrasound after one week coz sometimes abortion may not tak place completely n some traces may remain.. it happened for me too.. so de doc gave me another two tablets.. after taking tat i didnt had any bleeding but ultrasound report proved my endometrium thickness is 3mm.. normal shud be less than 14mm.. hope this helped u.. if u hav any other queries u can ask me.. dont worry. its not a tough thing.. a person like me hav exprienced.. so any body can face it easily... all de best..done worry dear.. :)

Doctors hail Govt. decision to market controversial abortion pill SREELATHA MENON -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- NEW DELHI, NOV 3: The medical fraternity in the country has welcomed the Government's decision to market the abortion pill RU-486 in India but has warned that the pill could prove to be dangerous if its use is not strictly regulated. The Indian Council of Medical Research recently recommended marketing of the drug under strict medical supervision after the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare sought its opinion on the drug. The drug, which has been in use in many European countries, was granted approval in the US only last month after a decade-long resistance to it by anti-abortion activists. While the US Food and Drug Administration has clamped strict regulations on its use, norms on its use and marketing are yet to be announced in India. The pill has sparked off a major controversy in the country with women activists such as Brinda Karat protesting against it. They say unregulated and unmonitored use of the drug could lead to dangerous side-effects. But according to Banu Gupta, gynaecologist in the Capital's Holy Family Hospital, such panic is unnecessary. "All one must ensure is that it is introduced with strict regulations," she said. It also requires public education. The pill, she says, is effective in inducing abortion only in the first seven weeks of pregnancy and can be used only in a normal pregnancy and never in a tubal or any other abnormal pregnancy. ``The pill has to be taken with prostaglandin, and hence only an informed doctor can adminster it. Besides in some rare cases, it may not lead to complete abortion and the patient may require surgical removal of foetus. It may also in some cases lead to excessive bleeding requiring transfusion.'' FDA regulations make three visits to the doctor mandatory for taking the pill. The first to get counselling and three RU 486 or Mifoprex as it is known there; the second to take two tablets of a drug called Misoprostol which induces contractions; and the third for a follow up after 12 days. According to Dr Alka Kripalini, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where a ten-year clinical trial of the drug was carried out, there is no reason why its use cannot be regulated. ``Why condemn a useful and safe drug because we are not willing to use it properly,'' she asks. ``Even cars can be misused but we do not ban cars,'' she says. She says that the pill was found to be 90 per cent effective in ICMR's studies involving hundreds of women at Safdarjung Hospital and AIIMS. ``It is a useful drug and is needed,'' she says.``With the pill you can avoid surgery in 90 per cent of abortion cases (normal pregnancies upto seven weeks),'' she says. Hormonal action by the pill causes bleeding for two to three days till the foetus is expelled, she says, but excessive bleeding is rare. In such cases transfusion is a must and patients must have access to it. Those who administer the pill should also be aware of such complications, she says. Citing views expressed by doctors from the UK at a meeting of the Royal College of Gynaecologists in Chandigarh, Dr Urvashi Jha, gynaecologist in Apollo Hospital says that they had found it safe to let the patient take the pill on an out-patient basis. ``There is no reason why we should delay the pill. It will suffice to educate our doctors and the public as to who should give the pill and how the medicine should be administered. As for misuse of the drug, she says, all drugs can be misused. ''Why pick on this drug?'' It has advantages and disadvantages but can prove very useful as it is like normal abortion and avoids anaesthesia. "God has made life sacred" (17:33) is declared in the Quran(The Muslim Holy Book ). It should not surprise us to find out that the title God chose for the first revelation of the Quran was "The Hanging Embryo" (Sura 96), not something else such as, Creation, The Sun, Jesus, Adam, or Abraham. This hanging embryo stage starts about 6 days after fertilization when the embryo attaches to the inner lining of the uterus. This chapter swears by the creation of the human being from this tiny hanging embryo and the omnipotence of God. The choice of words for the title emphasizes the significance that God puts on this stage of human development. Knowledge about embryology is detailed in the Quran to a level that had not previously been documented. To start with, the very first revelation from God to Muhammad through the angel Gabriel was literally entitled "The Hanging Embryo" (96). Explaining in more detail "We create the human being from a certain kind of mud. Subsequently, We reproduced him from a tiny drop that is placed into a well protected repository. Then We developed the drop into a hanging (embryo), then developed the hanging (embryo) into a bite size (fetus), then created the bite-size (fetus) into bones, then covered the bones with flesh. We thus produced a new creature. Most blessed is God, the best Creator." (23:12-14). If you are a Muslim you should know that it is wrong to do abortion because the creator and owner of the little being is GOD so who are you to think that it is right to do abortion when GOD has stated clearly in the wholy Quran that it is a sin. "Say,`Come let me tell you what your Lord has really prohibited for you: You shall not set up idols besides Him. You shall honor your parents. You shall not kill your children (awlad) from fear of poverty. We ["We" is used in the Quran when other entities like the angels have a role in the process, also "We" in Arabic singular is used for someone of royal or glorified status] provide for you and for them. You shall not commit gross sins, obvious or hidden. You shall not kill any person - God has made life sacred - except in the course of justice. These are His commandments to you, that you may understand.�" from 6:151. This is emphasized again in Sura 17 "You shall not kill any person - for God has made life sacred- except in the course of justice..."(17:33) and " You shall not kill your children due to fear of poverty. We provide for them, as well as for you. Killing them is a gross offense" (17:31). Killing any person is strongly condemned in the Quran, especially the killing of children which is specifically condemned in several chapters. The Arabic word "awlad" is used in these references which translates to "born and unborn children". If God intended to only prohibit post-born children from being killed, then the word "mawlood" (born children) which is already in use in the Quran would have substituted the other. But it is clear that preborn children are also to be protected from murder.
