Reasons to Break Up

Finding your true love is not easy. Here are a few reasons to help you decide if it is time for you to move on.

You have been in a relationship for some time now. Everything seems hunky dory on the outside but you are not sure if your boyfriend is the right man for you. Should you take your relationship further or are you just wasting your time? This is one of the most difficult situations that an individual faces when it comes to a relationship.

Ending a relationship is a big step to take. You have to think it over thoroughly and weigh all the pros and cons before you make your final choice. Here are a few factors that may help you in your decision making.

Leading Your Partner On

Sometimes you are in a relationship with someone who is deeply in love with you but you do not feel the same way about him. If such a situation exists, then you owe it your partner to end the relationship. One person in a relationship may sometimes develop strong feelings towards the partner in the hopes that their feelings will be returned someday. If you know you have no intention of taking the relationship further, it would benefit you both to end the relationship immediately.

Often, relationships may start out as a matter of convenience between two people. While there is nothing wrong with such relationships, they can sometimes lead to a trap. For one person, the relationship may begin to have deeper meaning while the other partner may still view it as having someone around to go out with occasionally. If you do not see a future in your relationship with someone, do not continue the relationship.

When you lead someone on, you are merely delaying the inevitable. You may not be in love with that person but this does not mean that you totally ignore his feelings. If you care about your partner as a friend, you owe it to him to stop any deception. By ending the relationship while it is still in its early stages, you will at least avoid hurting your partner's feelings. If you continue the relationship until a stage when you realise your partner is picking out wedding locations, it will be much harder to end the relationship.

Distrusting Your Partner

Unfaithfulness is one of the main reasons why people break up. If your partner has been unfaithful to you in the past, it will be difficult for you to trust him again. In most situations, cheating is unforgivable. However, there may be other considerations to take into account in order to understand why your partner felt the need to cheat on you.

Your partner may cheat on you for a number of reasons. Perhaps you yourself have been unfaithful in the past and he is trying to get back at you. In some cases, a partner may cheat because the two participants in the relationship have grown apart and are no longer spending as much time together. Your partner may turn to someone because you are emotionally rejecting him, not reciprocating his love and affection. Whatever the cause, give your partner a chance to explain his actions, before you decide to break up with him.

If you find out your partner cheated on you, should you dump him immediately? How you deal with the situation will depend on both you and your partner. Is he truly sorry for cheating on you or is he just sorry he was caught? If you feel that you can no longer trust him, it is better to end the relationship. If you continue to be with this person, will you always be looking over your shoulder to make sure he is not cheating on you? In such a situation, you will only end up becoming jealous, bitter, and paranoid. This will lead to insecurity.

Everyone makes a mistake at some point in her life. It is up to you to recognise a useless situation and make an effort to improve it. Remember that honesty is the best policy.
