Baby Book

Preserve your child's memories by taking the time to make a baby scrapbook, filled with photographs and snippets of information.

Create memories that you will cherish for a lifetime. Memories don't just get stored automatically you need to work on preserving them.
Those who keep diaries are always thankful that they do, especially when they read about something wonderful that had happened, and that they had completely forgotten about.
Similarly, every moment you spend with your child is precious. Some of us buy baby books, some of us are presented with baby books, but most of us don't fill up anything beyond the first few pages. And then, years down the line, we only have a few photographs and lots of empty pages to remind us of the days gone by.
Babyhood is all too fleeting. Before you know it, your child has started school. Years fly past one after another and soon your child is in college. And then you try and remember something cute and funny your child used to do or say, and your memory fails you. That adorable instance is gone forever.
One of the best things you can do to preserve the memories of these days is to make a scrapbook. Here are some tips.

Camera

Keep a camera handy, and take it with you wherever you go. Always be ready to take a picture whenever your child is up to something crazy or cute. Kids don't wait for the camera before doing something 'snapworthy!' The camera has to be up and ready for them. Make sure you have photographs of the time your baby wore his diaper on his head, dipped his face into chocolate cake and of many of the other incredibly naughty but adorable things babies do.

Story

Keep most of the photographs for your albums, but if you have some that come with an interesting story, you could put this in the scrapbook. Include the story besides the picture.

Selection

Don't develop every single photograph you take. Including crappy photographs without much meaning reduce the quality of your scrapbook and your album. Digital cameras are a godsend. You can very easily select the best images of the lot, and only have those developed. A few albums filled with incredible photographs will serve as a much better memory than a ton of albums with meaningless photographs. You and your children are also far more likely to sift through a few albums every now and again, than you are to sift through a multitude of them.
Do you already have a bunch of photographs lying around in an envelope or box? Begin by sorting them out according to date as far as possible. Then select the ones that can tell a story, and add them to your album. Every photograph doesn't have to be a masterpiece it just has to tell a story, so when you read the scrapbook you can see the years gone by as clearly as if it just happened yesterday.

Friends and relatives

Don't just include your child's photographs in the scrapbook or even he will get bored looking at them after some time. Make sure you include images of relatives and friends as well and add some snippets on them.

The best way to do this and to avoid sticky fingers and cutting and pasting is to compile it online.

www.nappytimes.com is an online baby book where you can record milestones and put pictures. its very easy to use and very secure. The final copy can be ordered for around Rs4000 and its a hard bound book - colourful and pretty. I have seen the book at an exhibition where they were present.

Hope i could be of some help :)
