Kids do have deficiency diseases which is mainly due to inadequate nutrition. Kids do not like to have fruits and vegetables and are very picky and this leads to deficiency diseases. Mostly kids are deficient in iron or calcium as these are required in large amounts by them.

Most kids suffer from vitamin D deficiency and calcium deficiency. Vitamin D deficiency is due to lack of sun exposure and this can be easily prevented. Daily exposure to sun can help in prevention of rickets as it is due to vitamin d deficiency. Sun exposure helps the body to form Vitamin D. Similarly calcium can be had in form of milk or dairy products to prevent its deficiency. So young children must be encouraged to have a balanced food for preventing deficiency diseases.

It is commonly seen that in children there is lack of nutritional deficiency. This is not a new thing as children hate eating healthy food and when the required nutrients are not received by the body they end up having deficiencies. Having deficiency disorders is commonly seen in the children as they are fond of eating junk food, sweetened beverages and many other unhealthy things. Every parent is worried about their child’s health and eating habits. Not eating proper food can lead to underdevelopment of the child. At this age he needs to eat and for proper growth and development.

Hello, today children have lack of the essential components like vitamin B, magnesium, folic acid and omega 3 fatty acids. If there are nutritional deficiencies can have adverse effects on the brain and development. When there is lack of nutrients in the body it is difficult for the brain to produce norepinephrine and dopamine chemicals in the body. This results in ADHD which causes hyperactivity in the children and also children become more impulsive, attention seekers. The common symptoms you can see are anxiety and depression. To avoid this it is our responsibility to feed our child proper food.

Hi, omega 3 fatty acids are important dietary fats for the development of the child and they keep the neuronal membranes supple. These are extremely necessary for the body and deficiency of this can cause dry skin, depression, loss or poor memory and mood swings in the child. This is a necessary fat required by the body. If your child has magnesium less in his body, then it might affect the functioning of different body parts. If proper intake of magnesium containing food is taken then it can avoid ADHD and asthma. Deficiency can cause hyperactivity or allergies in the child.

Zinc is also extremely important for the child and is an essential part of everyday diet. Proper intake of zinc can increase the immune system of the child along with proper protein synthesis and cell reproduction. But if there is zinc deficiency then it can cause loss of hair, change in behaviour and even the wound which are caused to the child will not heal faster. Vitamin B plays a vital role to ensure a healthy mind and body. Children suffering from ADHD are recommended to eat vitamin B rich food. Lack in vitamin B cause psychological problems in the children.

Hi, my child had vitamin B deficiency and he suffered from indigestion, insomnia and also felt tiredness. Some other symptoms of lack of vitamin B are irritation, ADHD, small attention spans and many other. In such cases you should immediately visit your doctor and he will suggest proper medication and food for the child. The doctor might even tell you to give your child vitamin B rich diet and supplements required for the child’s body. Iron deficiency is also a common one which is seen in children today. Intake of healthy fruits and vegetables daily can help increase the iron in the body.

The deficiency of vitamin D can cause hypocalcemia and hypophosphatemia in the kids. The lack of vitamin D can be serious in many cases as it can cause respiratory infections, asthma, multiple sclerosis and type 1 diabetes as well. The deficiency of vitamin C can cause rickets due to the lack of calcium in the body. All these missing nutrient can be had by eating a balanced diet every day which contains fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins, dairy products in the diet. If food consumed properly then there are no chances of having any kind of deficiency and there is no need of supplements as well.
