This new year I have made a resolution for my kid's sake. I have decided not to yell at my kids. I know yelling at kids does more harm than good. Kids become immune to scoldings and yelling and do not listen or pay heed to. Time and again, I have tried not to yell but it just happens as I cannot control my temper and I tend to yell at them at slight provocation. Whenever my kids do not listen to me or do not study, I tend to yell but recently I had observed that my kid is a bit scared of me because of this habit. My daughter fearing that I would yell, does not come to me for her problems and this made me realize that I need to change this habit. So I have decided that I will not yell at my kids from now on. Hope to keep up with this resolution.
Resolutions are a way to change and go in for the best. These can also help to become a better parent. Parenting resolutions help to change the irritating habits and opt for becoming a good parent. This also helps in strengthening the bond between the child and the parent. A parent who has a habit of spanking or hitting kids can make a resolution of not doing so and gradually he will be able to overcome the habit. This will make the child feel at ease and will also help in better communication as the child will now not be scared. The child will also learn to follow the resolutions in future.
