Pregnancy is a time to be extra careful and especially for those who have a complicated or high risk pregnancy. During pregnancy exercises can be done but only after consulting with the gynecologist. Certain exercises should be avoided in pregnancy such as those which have jerky movements or require too much of stamina as they can be risky during this period. Jumping, running on uneven surfaces or skipping are not advisable. It is best to resort to walking if you are unsure of what to do. walking is the safest exercise and can be done throughout the pregnancy.

Please avoid strenuous exercises in pregnancy. It is better to be safe by doing simple and easy exercises that do not require much efforts. Avoid jerky movements in pregnancy as they can lead to miscarriage. Running and jogging should also be avoided for the same reason. Hello all, it is very important to plan the exercises when a women is pregnant and be aware of all the exercises which they do. Heavy weight training should be completely avoided as those involve muscles. Muscle contraction are involved and they put stress on the cardiovascular system of the body.

Hi, holding your breathe during any position of yoga or while stretching or weight training is not at all applicable. Not breathing during exercises means you are over-exerting yourself which is not good for your health and the baby, if you are doing so you should stop.

Exercises involving stomach also should be avoided like lying down on the stomach. Some of the exercises are for the strengthening of the stomach. These exercises can be very uncomfortable because of the weakness in the muscles as there is a separation happening for the development of the baby.

Hello, standing for a long period of time is also not good during the pregnancy. Even if you are a ports person you can play games like football or basketball as there is always a risk of having abdominal trauma, pain in joints and even risk of falling.

Hi, activity which require balancing should also be avoided like tennis and squash. Sports which are played at higher altitude cause sickness and the reduced oxygen supply can cause dehydration to you and the oxygen supply to the baby can be cut out totally which is harmful.
