I pursue a hobby that is probably lesser known in our country though is catching up recently. "Bird watching" or "Birding" as it is popularly known. I like to watch birds in their natural habitat and as part of a larger group, go out mostly every Sunday for what we term "weekend birding". We explore remote villages, green and fallow fields, city forests, waterbodies etc. and try to identify as many species as possible. Some of the more keen birders also indulge in studying their habits, behaviors, patterns of migration etc. contributing to citizen science if birds. The hobby has tuned my eyes and ears to the neighborhood birds as well, that I pride in showing to kids and elders in the colony whenever I can. It promotes love for nature. It's a very fulfilling hobby that not only connects you to nature but also brings you in touch with group of other very knowledgeable and nice folks.
