my son and his wife are hopeless spendthrifts. i want to put some money in bonds for my grand daughter but i am worried that my son and his wife will take offence. Is it normal for grandparents to gift bonds as a birthday gift to their grandkids? Then ill give it on her birthday so as not to risk insulting my son and his wife.
