Visiting my grandson for the first time in USA

I am going to visit my son and his family in USA for the first time since his wife delivered a baby boy. My new grandson is already 1 and 1/2 years old. What gifts should I buy from him from India? or should I buy most of his gifts from USA only? What to gift my grandson who stays in USA and must therefore definitely be having the best of toys and other stuff that you never get in India? My husband is telling me to just gift a gold chain. But i also want to gift him some toys that he will love and remember his dadi for.

Any suggestions?
