A parents should always have a keen observation as this helps in identifying the hidden talents of child. Observing the kid on a daily basis gives an idea about the interests of the kid and also talents if any. If a kid in his or her free time, loves doing something, then it means that he or she has an interest towards it. Parents should encourage such tasks as with encouragement, kids will be able to develop that interest. Observation by others also helps in helping identify talents. Many times comments by friends, relatives or teachers indicate a hidden talent which if pursued will be beneficial for the child. Children should be given free time so that they are able to do what they feel like and this also helps in nurturing the hidden talent.
Kids now a days are burdened with many activities and this makes them tired and does not help them in doing things of their interest. To identify talent, it is important to let the children go loose. Let them play, do their own thing rather than forcing your choices on them. All this motivates children and makes them curious which in turn helps them find their own interest areas. As a parent, you should always encourage them in whatever they do.

I completely agree with you Barkha. It is important to observe the kids to be able to identify their interests and thus talents. We seldom think of the kids and out them into various classes or activities which tires them. Parents try to keep their kids occupied always so that they are not into any mischief and I believe this is not a healthy trend. Kids should be given freedom and opportunities to discover. Parents can motivate a gifted child by encouraging him or her when he or she does something on own. They should encourage creative pursuits of the child and if the need be then should provide all the necessary help and guidance so that the child is able to get better at his or her area of interest. Use of discouraging remarks or words should be avoided.
