What are the basic dietary requirements during ninth month of pregnancy? What should be the calorie intake in the ninth month? What is diet advice for the ninth month of pregnancy?

Calorie needs are higher during pregnancy and especially during ninth month as the baby is still developing. A healthy diet in the ninth month of pregnancy is essential. Fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains are needed to meet the nutritional requirements. A dieatry change may be required to overcome heartburn and acid reflux which is common during this time. small frequent meals are the best ways to go.

The baby is almost developed complete at this stage and the weight increases along with the brain and lungs maturing. It is very important you be aware what you eat during this time. Your digestive system can be weak at this time due to the increased weight, this is the reason you should have a balanced diet.

Hi all, proper balanced diet helps in proper growth and development of the baby. Fibre rich foods like fruits, vegetables, cereals, dates all these should be eaten. Iron rich foods like fish, chicken, broccoli, peas, spinach, berries, raisins should be eaten.

Calcium rich foods should be eaten which is required during this stage. Some foods are dairy products, oatmeal, almond, greens and many more. Vitamin c rich foods should be eaten like tomatoes, broccoli, citrus fruits, cauliflower and strawberries.

Eat folic acid rich foods like green leafy vegetables, black-eyed peas, legumes and chickpeas, these help prevent birth defects like spina bifida. Also eat vitamin A rich foods like carrots, spinach, cantaloupe and sweet potatoes.

Some foods should be avoided which were avoided throughout the pregnancy like caffeine, alcohol as intake of these may harm the baby. Caffeine consumed occasionally is preferred but alcohol should not be consumed as it causes premature delivery, birth defects and retarded baby birth.

Hello do not eat soft cheeses as they are not pasteurized and can cause infections, eating raw seafood also should be avoided and saccharine is a sweetener which should be avoided instead, eat fruits or homemade sweets.
