Hi, children and exams are inversely proportional to each other. All the children get scared and nervous hearing about exams. Every parents has an issue of how to prepare the kids for the exam and how to make them face it without fear. Many children say that they can cope up with the tests and exams but they are actually just saying those things to just hide their nervousness and we as parents should understand it. Their responses can give signs that children are nervous and you should take all the possible measures to help them and relieve their stress.

We can detect the symptoms of our child being nervous and stressed by the behaviour of our child. There is immediate change in their behaviour and those could indicate the nervousness. Children tend to get more irritable, become upset on small things and also might become clingy to you and start fidgeting with things. Some of the children start losing interest in activities which they usually enjoyed. Children may not tell you how they feel but they might tend to tell you indirectly by their behaviour which you should be able to understand. Help children by overcoming their fears and also tell them that you are with them.

Children are very sensitive and emotional when they are small and get affected by small things. Children tend to get stressed easily when they feel that they are not being able to do something. You as parents should always be there during such emotional times of the kid as when the child is stressed out all he needs is your love and affection. Giving support to your child when he needs it badly can boost his confidence and you should also motivate the child to do better. Always try to be positive to the child and shouting and hitting can make the matters worse.

When you feel that your child is under stress or is nervous you can ask him or her about the feelings they are undergoing through. Children will never speak up about their feelings and always try to hide their nervousness and anxiety. It is our duty to find out if our child is alright or not and this can be done by calmly talking to the child and also understanding what he is going through. Once you understand your child’s situation you can comfort him by saying positive things to him and making him feel more normal. Show all the love and affection to the child so he or she does not feel that he is being ignored or not understood.

Children lack confidence and that is why they get nervous and stressed out before the exam. Preparing kids mentally for exams is not so easy. There needs to be a lot of motivation and boosting of self-confidence in the children which will make them confident. Teaching children to be brave and to face all the difficulties is a must and they need to learn it so that they can cope in today’s life. Keep your children away from negative feedbacks and you try to be positive so that the child is able to be positive and has a positive influence on his mind.

If you child seems to be getting too nervous do not panic and just calm them down by letting them take deep breaths and also saying positive things like they can do it and the exam will really easy, they remember everything they have studied and you believe in them. These words of affection can help them relax and calm down. Help them to imagine that they can easily cope up in the exams, this thing is really helpful to reduce their anxiety. Encourage them in every possible way and make them comfortable. It is necessary that we teach our children helpful thinking.

Hi, I agree with the above point helping children learn helpful thinking can be beneficial for the children. You can also help children boost their confidence by giving them examples, you can also give them your example where how you managed to relieve your stress and gave your exam. You took things positively and you succeeded, all these things can help the child to calm down and make them forget their stress for some time. Remember do not ever pressurise your child with your expectations as that might also be the reason for his stress.

Hello, teach your children some strategies and tricks for the times if they get stuck in the exam. There are at times when children just freeze during the exam when they do not know the answer. Children also feel sick before the exam, you can tell them that when they get stuck during exam they can just calm down and take deep breaths and try to relax and remember the answer and if he is not able to recollect it, it is okay to move on to the next question. They can also drink some water so that they calm down and be relaxed.
