Penne pasta in Pesto Sauce
Ingredients
Penne pasta
Spring onions
Basil leaves
Garlic
Extra virgin Olive oil
Pine nuts (walnuts will also do)
Salt
Cheese (as a topping)
Method
In a grinder, crush, basil leaves, garlic cloves, pine nuts, extra virgin olive oil, and salt. Your pesto sauce is ready. You Pesto sauce is ready.
Boil penne pasta with a pinch of salt. Then take out the pasta in a bowl and toss with the pesto sauce (don't mix pesto in the pot because pesto turns black when heated). Add salt to taste.
Garnish with cheese and fresh basic leaves. Best enjoyed with garlic bread!
(Tip: Do not reheat left over pasta because it will turn black)
