Every day your child touches lot of unhygienic things not only in public, but also at home. Read on to learn about the dirty things your children touch every day and tips to help them stay clean and healthy.
You must be surprised to know that dirty objects are all round you and your child touches a lot of these things many times in a day. However, if you come to know about the things, you can at least save your child from touching at least some of them and help them maintain a better hygienic lifestyle as well.

Top 10 Dirtiest Things Your Children Touch Everyday

Let us take a look at the top 10 dirtiest things that your children touch every day.

Toys

Your child plays with toys all the time and it is practically impossible to keep cleaning all the toys each time your child wants to play. Toys are one of the dirty things that your child touches lot of times in a day. Let your child wash her hands after playing.

Mobile Phones

Even though experts are of the opinion that mobile phones should be kept away from kids, practicality says it the opposite way. The most important thing to note down is that you cannot stop your child from touching the mobile phone. Well, mobile phones are dirty or say, they carry lot of germs.

Fridge Handle

Even if you wipe the fridge handle often in a day, it contains germs and dirt which your child touches many times daily. Try not to allow your child to grab anything edible from the fridge immediately.

Door Knobs

Whether your children are at home or in the school, they have to touch doorknobs often. The door knobs are hotbeds of germs. Many people touch them everyday leaving the dirt in their hands behind. You can teach your child to touch the part of the door knob which is either lower or higher than normal so that less people would have touched it.

Shopping Cart

This is one of the favourite things children love to hold and it is one of the dirtiest things that they touch, perhaps unknowingly. So, next time you go to supermarket, sanitize your hands once you are done with the shopping.

Light Switches

Light switches are rarely cleaned, but they are touched a lot of times by different people every day. They end up collecting lot of germs and bacteria especially in school and other public places.

Restaurant Menus

Menus are filled with bacteria because often people order their meals and do not even wash their hands before eating. So, make sure you make your children wash their hands after they have selected the items.

Food Vending Machines

Food vending machines that provide coffee, soda, sandwiches and other food items are very dangerous as they are extremely dirty. The buttons are filthy and the food items make direct path to reach into your children’s stomach when they eats.

Remote Control

Children love eating in bed and watching TV. They touch the buttons a lot of times while eating and hence leave a favourable place for bacteria and germs to breed.

Carpet

A carpet is said to contain lakhs of bacteria and your children play and roll on the carpet a number of times during day.
A common solution to the above problem is to make sure you clean the above objects and surfaces at least weekly with a disinfectant. Also, train your child to wash hands frequently especially when she is going to eat something. It is the best habit you can inculcate in your kids and save them from getting sick.
