Hi Priya,

Pls don' t use the sad smily, its fine.

Just throw some papers, small items on the floor and try picking them up (squatting position). I am due in 5-6 days (Mar 2nd) and my baby is not engaged too. During this wednesday' s visit, doc said baby has moved down a bit, but not completety (she was not worried), so you have lot of time. She will do an internal next Wednesday, to confirm baby' s enegagement.
Shopping is a good exercise at least in pregnancy (although our husbands might not agree!) I think you should just step out of home and go shopping, you forget that you are excercising while shopping. I feel my shopping on Monday and Tuesday really made a difference to me.

hi priya,
as others said, head may drop anytime..

I attended child birth class here in new jersy and our instructor was a obgyn nurse.
she advised us to get up and squat..

what u do is, take a dining table chair (or any other chair that is sturdy), stand behind it, hold the top of the back rest with both ur hands and sit slowly (like u squat on the toilet seat in india) try keepin ur knees as apart as u can.
get up, repeat 10 times, morn and evening.

widening ur knees this way opens ur pelvic muscles and bones. thus ur baby will hv more space to drop.

this is wat i did and my baby dropped at 35 weeks.. i did not walk as its winter in USA.

if anything hurts (other that ur thigh muscles) please stop. it worked for me, it may or may not work for u.

and do this squatting exersice only when ur mom or hubby is around to watch over u...

good luck,
dont worry!

hi priya

i am in my 39th week and due mar 3rd with my second one. dont worry and give in for unnecessary thots. u still hv time and babies head descend anytime before delivery may be even just few hrs before u go into labor. first its important that ur doctor is supportive of ur views and even now its not too late to change ur doc if she is not positive and wants to hurry u. our body is meant to deliver babies. i appreciate ur spirits to go for normal and i am sure u will if u have the will power. i had a tight vaginal passage and i still delivered normally my first one. intercourse is nothing to do with that. dont worry. good luck.

Priya,
As this is your first pregnancy, I understand your anxiety and worry. I delivered last year and I still lurk around to see new arrivals once in a while. This is my persoanl experience: Babys head can move down any time in next few weeks. DO what normally you will do walking and other traidition that your culture follows for smooth vaginal delivery.
Rest hope and pray for the best. C-section is not the end of the world. It is good to have vaginal delivery but believe me C-section is not the end.
Try to keep positive, happy and pray and hope for healthy baby and safe deivery.
I really think vaginal delivery is just made into a big brew haha..your goal should be healthy baby by any means..that' s the bottom line.
Don' t be sad and negative. Think positive and be happy things will work out either way.
Good luck
