I am 29 weeks pregnant, and I was diagnosed with GD at 27 weeks. Since then, I have been on a diet to control my carb intake and have been following it strictly. While I have succeeded in bringing my sugar levels back into a desirable range, I have started to lose weight. My doc told me not to be surprised if I lose a few pounds, but I have lost about 4 pounds in a span of 2 weeks. Let me give you a clear idea of my pregnancy weight gain:
I was overweight before I became pregnant. I was weighing 148 pounds and was overweight for my 5'1'' frame. I was weighing in at 164 pounds during my prenatal visit at 27 weeks. But as of today, entering the 29th week, I was weighing 160.5 pounds. I am very much worried abt this. I am worried it might harm my baby. What do you think about this issue? Is it ok to lose this much weight? How can I ensure I gain properly?

Although it looked like you had gained 16 pounds in 27 weeks it was not that high to that gestation.
loosing 4-6 pounds in four weeks is common for some especially after cutting down carbohydrate and or salts, which adds to fluid retension. I would not suspect this condition is affecting your baby I think you are loosing only the fluid retension part. I would recommend a close monitor by ultrasound mainly cause I would want to see if the AFI index remains in range with this strict diet or goes down, which will later on force you to have a C-section and to some extent fetal weight not development.

i am going thro the same tension, i am 31 weeks pregnant and have not put on weight for the last 3 weeks. doc has advised me a higher dose of folic acid and started me on protein supplemnts with milk. pls check with ur doc and start it asap.and take rest and care of ur self
