Hi Archie,

I was asked to get an ultrasound at week 29 to track the baby weight. Doctor told me babay weights 1095 gms/2.4 pounds. She said baby falls in 49 percentile in terms of weight..

I am not sure what that percentile means.Does it mean baby is overweight, underweight or normal? Do you think this is the right weight for baby in 29 weeks, eventhough it may be just a ballpark?

hi,
if your doc says that your baby's weight falls in the 49th ercentile, that means thats the average weight of babies in the week- so thats normal.

can you have an ultrasound in or around 34 weeks, I would love to know the progress of fetus growth.

baby's growth can be spurt between 27 and 29th week so tought to comment on. Baby seems OK with weight but want to confirm it once. It's not underweight or overweight though.
