Due Date Club October 2006:quest for Archie and OCean Baby

Hi Archie and Ocean Baby,
How are you doing? I have come back with the same problem of rashes on my body. being in California and the heat these days...it is going worse. Skin irritation and itching is like non-stop. Making me sleep deprived and headaches. I took Benadryl and Claritin last week. However, doc had prescribed Temovate Topical steroid cream. It says on the info that even low dosage upon tesing on animals produces teratogeic effects. I am sooooo confused. I have left a msg at my docs office, but no response as of yet.

Also, I don't understand what triggers this rash in pregnancy and Ocean Baby... Archie was right that it can go worse. I am just scared with the medications. I am applying Aveeno with oatmeal everyday and Eucerin, but all in vain. also, my tummy during pregnancy is sort of upward...pregnancy belly (upward) not at the bottom. since last week above my belly button huge strech marks have shown up? I apply cocoa butter, but I don;t know what can do I soothe my itching especially arms/legs/brests and bums.

Last quest is if I can apply Temovate on my belly where I see red small rashes? Ocean baby did you use the cream on your belly?

Thanks!

As I already told you in my earlier post,Yes, I had PUPPPs in my 6th month. Caladryl did not help much though. But this cream called \";propynate\"; was the best. It gave good relief. Especially the rashes around my tummy disappeared within one day's usage.
You could try that. Watch your diet, avoid oily food etc.
Regarding the cream just ask your doc once.
Let me know if it helped.

babyonmind,

I have known a handful cases on IP who were accompanied with this trouble until delivery.

Did not claritin help you? If not then less likely be an allergy derived trouble. It's confirmed to be pupps and they could linger around for a while or till child birth.

Aveeno is good option to keep skin moist and keep washing skin parts where you have these feelings with cold water as much as you can.

Try not to wear too tight clothings and also try to wear fully cotton textured cloths. I hope you will find some relief, almost half of the summer is yet to finish:-(

What week you are into.

one more thing, usually I don't comment on stretch mark as I believe they are going to be there no matter what you use. Trust me during pregnancy your skin is going to stretch as much on tummy and some marks are expected. atlhough they might look ugly soon after childbrith in a few months they will fade from routine use of coco-butter and oil massage you will get after child birth. Still to keep them on lesser side it's best not to let tummy skin get dry.

Did you try baby lotions on body parts and tummy, apply aveeno or baby lotions soon after shower. If possible take cold showers twice a day and apply cream after each wash/shower.

hope this will help you.
