Due Date Club March 2007:Nila

Name: hello !

Hi Nila

Hope you are doing good.In my last visit ,my midwife did not tell me anything about the baby's position.(In my OB's practice, they never tell you anything unless we ask for it.No numbers given, nothing and I totally hate it)Till now ,I feel the baby right down there.Do you still feel the same way?And how about movements?Do you feel enough movements?
About cleaning - I live in California Bay Area in an apartment community. So there are plenty of maintenence people who work around the apartment(people from south of the border-if you know what I mean,I dont know if I can explicitly tell their race)who does all sorts of housework for a pretty reasonable cost.I talked to one of them and made her come over to my apartment and got my kitchen and bath cleaned. But its against the apartment rules to hire them for personal use!!
Anyways,Im calling her back again to clean my living room ,dining and bedrooms sometime in Feb and getting my carpet thoroghly cleaned. They come in as a family and finish it real quick.Im yet to get the estimate for my next round of cleaning.
I think merrymaid services are expensive or any other maid agency for that matter. This works the best for people around here.BTw,where in US are you?If you do stay in a community, try if you can sneak in somebody to your place and get the work done. Its worth the money we pay ,coz my kitchen and bath has never been this clean!!!
I know, shame on me...When my mom is here,I do not want her to comment on the way things are at home.
All the best and GL

hey hello
thanks for the tip. will try to do it that way. same here. my kitchen is never organised. will they just clean the countertop, floors, sink or do even the organising. i need help with that too. :-(

i feel kicks like u and i amnot able to touch and tell exactly the baby's head and that is driving me crazy. my inlaws' flight is on feb 13th and thats when BA is on strike. keeping fingers crossed.

also not sure if u saw the list. since u wanted some inputs from second timers, i am posting again from experience here.

Hi gals,

that is quite a list.

Heres from my first experience:

1. rubbing alcohol was a must for us since my son's chord fell after 2 months. can anyone believe?

2. we did not buy crib.

3. no monitors. instead i had a fischer price cradle/swing which unfortunately we gave it away and now i am desperately looking for that model. it was a boon. now fischer price does not manufacture that model anymore. so that was portable and i used to have in my livign roon and cook in kitchen. never dared to take bath leaving the baby alone till he turned 3.

4. never really used diaper cream. just aveeno. in summers i used cloth ones from india.

5. after trying johnson's baby shower, baby magic and others finally my son's skin only took one brand well which i used till now. i suggest going for that to all moms. \" california baby\" bathshower/shampoo. it is very expensive but worth it.

6. bought a sling but could not bear the weight on my back. so returned it. not sure if i will buy it again. stroller ofcourse is useful especially when baby is old enough , umbrella strollers are very useful.

7. did not use breastpumps or bottles. i tried breastpump once but did not work for me. it does not work for everyone even though i nursed him well through more than his 2 years.

hope it helps.

now this time i am looking at first years sleeper that can be used on our bed. any inputs on this?
