Due Date Club October 2006:Archie skin is itching and pink rashes?

Hi Archie, I am 27 weeks pregnant. There are some strech marks as usual...they were itch, but not badly, I kept applying cocoa butter. But three days ago...some pink small rashes came on my back, wrists, legs and especially alot on my stomach and brests. It is itchy like anything. My gyne prescribed Temovate 0.5% 60mg to be applied, Benadryl at night and Claritin during day time. All says, if you are pregnant or nursing do not take Temovate cream. Temovate cream has been found to interfere with growth in infants and fetuses.
Same with Claritin? What do you suggest?

Thanks!

Babyonmind,
I would say Claritin 10mg per day should be OK.
By and large OTC or prescribed drugs will say if you are pregnant or planning to get pregnant talk to your Dr. This is a routine notice as long as prescribed by OB or health care professional who is aware of pregnancy it should be OK.

Try to see if Claritin provides relief.
also topical applications of Timovate are not proved to be wrong on fetuses this only means drug must be used at litming amounts and only when required under guidance of OB/GYN.

Archie
