Due Date Club October 2006:Thigh numbness

Hi Archie,

I am in my 24th week of pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy. Over the last 2 weeks or so I am feeling numbness on my right upper thigh. It starts when I walk or stand for around 10-15 minutes or so.It feels as though it is a sprain & there is a nerve pulling inside. I don't think it is a sprain as it comes on a regular basis whenever I stand or walk.
Pls. let me know how I can overcome this.

kbg,
if you referring to groin area or upper part of vagina the mostly it's BHC or ligament pain and you will be fine.
there is a chance that you may experience pain from some vein strain but that's due to poor blood circulation and will improve if you keep active.

I think you need to get it reviewed by your Dr., make sure it's not varicous vein or something like that.

Subject:  burning sensation

hi archie!!!
thanq so much for replying. as i mentioned earlier, it is the thigh area n not the groin or ligament area.
for the past couple of days i am having great burning sensation on my thigh. if i neglect it n keep doing my work, i get the nerve-pulling sensation n then total numbness of the thigh till my knee. if i dont neglect n try to avoid getting it numb by keeping the leg at a higher position etc. the burning sensation increases more n more. i understand that there could be a nerve or a vein pull which is causing the numbness. but what about the burning sensation? what else can i do to reduce both? please help me out.

regards,
kbg

Hi Person,
