Due Date Club July 2010:Sterilisation discussed,

Hi Soumya and all,

I know there had been some discussion over this issue, but i still have some confusion.
What I have gone through over the internet is that if You have had a C-section or a normal delivery the Doc has to make another (separate) incision on the upper belly to tie the tubes within.
So this must be a separate surgery than that of the C-section.
My first delivery was induced -Normal....with lots of complications during and afterwards(Normal ke naam par kalank.....)
So my doc here in India says this --time it has to be a C-section to limit the possiblities of mishaps.

So if I am having an eminent C section then.....is it easy to have the sterilisation done then only? or it is again a separate surgery I have to undergo after the tiring experience of delivering a baby?

Please share your knowledge if you have consulted your obstrn abt this.
I am going to discuss it tomorrow with him(the doc).........

Another thing is anybody going for the triple (multiple-double whatever.......don' t know what they call it here in India)test????

Rgds,
Neha

Hi, Smitha and Saa(whats your name?)

Thanks for the valuable info.
I talked to my doc regding the same issue(st' n)..but he was quite calm and quiet and said we can discuss that in the later part 8-9 th month.
This time he also said that Csection is not eminent we will moniter how the placental position and attachment is and then decide.
He said It is possible to get it done after a C-sec, anyway.

I am telling my husband to get a vasectomy done isn' t it easier for them........to have it done than us(ladies)but my husband is a completrly freaks out when it comes to surgeries and all.
I had undergone 3-4 surgeries in this lifetime I am just 32........
and he is hesitant to get just one done!!!!

yeah and abt shaving the hair in the groin it becomes increasingly difficult as the first trimester ends.......so as it is my doc has stopped examining me internally now(that he did in my last 2-3 visits of fisrt trimester unlike the US doc she just did it once initially!!and then in the 9th month...)
So I am not worrying abt the hair. You can get it done (at least trimming)by ur hubby in the 9th month.
So why worry?

chalo hope you guys are over with nausea.........i am still having it.But trying to it the meals even though I have to throw up.

challo
enjoy And have a very Happy Valentine' s Day

Hi Neha,
I read your query about vasectomy.Even i had asked my hubby about the same.Naturally,he was not liking the idea and said its not common and all...
Yes,from what i have learned its easier than tubal litigation. But when i read more about it,i also learned that its also not that easy. There are chances of swelling and pain in that area, and like tubal litigation, reversal of the surgery is very difficult.so i decided i will not put pressure on him for the same.

smitha

Hi Neha,
Yes,from what i learned, its a seperate surgery and is done after one or two days of delivery, that is before you leave the hospital. My sister had got it done some time back.i will have to consult her for exact details.
there is a seperate cut done, and local anesthesia is given.so you can actually see the procedure though you dont feel the pain and is only semi conscious.
i also dread the sterilisation part more than the delivery.I wish i could avoid it :(
Yes,i have to undergo triple test this week itself. My doctor suggested it as i am 30 yrs(though in sites i see its required when you are 35 and above).once the doctor ask you to do a test,we end up doing it,no?otherwise i am not happy that i have to do it.but my hubby says,if it screens any possible abnormality,we should go for it.
regards,
smitha

Hi Shweta,
In case of normal delivery also,it can be done within 2 or 3 days.It is called postpartum tubal litigation.search google and you can get enough information about the same.
And regading removal of hair in the private parts, shaving is the best method,i think.but you cannot do it yourself as your tummy gets bigger.Do it now if you can,and for further growths, let others do it for you...
Regards,
smitha

hi! smitha n neha,
i also consulted my gyne regarding this she said it will be done along with C-sec., but if its c-sec. n in case of normal delivery it will be done after few months. but i m not aware of how it will be done, n reg. triple test i´ ve already got that done, there´ s no harm in getting that done, its just simple blood test n to know the abnormalitites in child if any, .
Smitha i also one very personal suggestion, as i m due in the month of april, pls. suggest how can i clean my pvt. parts like should i shave or apply some kind of creams to clean, as in my 1st delivery i didn´ t do that n i didn´ t like others doing that. pls. pls. suggest.shweta
