How are you feeling now? Don' t worry abt the test, I' m sure everything will go just rite! Even women with abnormal result in AFP will have normal follow-ups and healhy babies. So you don' t worry at all as your baby is healthy and it' s gonna be fine. Don' t exert yourself, take good rest and eat healthy!

Is your hubby gonna take few days off from work to help you or is there anyone ther to help you? Anyway, hope you get some rest after the test and be back again in the board soon. So have you decided yet abt which test you are gonna choose? Keep in touch and let me know!

By the way, the feeling you have in your tummy is definetly baby movements. It will be like quick bubble popping or some say like popcorn popping or butterfly fluttering. I' m sure you can feel more of it when you enter 20 weeks or so.

Had my amnio test on friday and it went smoothly... took plenty of rest after the test.. feeling better health wise now.. had little pain initially after the test was done.. but now it is ok... Thankfully there was no nausea or vomitting or anything else after the test.. so far so good... :)

Now awaiting results... I do get tensed thinking about it.. but hubby giving lot of positive talk.. will post later about the results in this post only...

Glad to know that your mom is here to help, that' s a big relief and mental support you know! Don' t worry abt anyhting, I know how hard it must have been for you in the previuos pregnancy. Good thing that you tested to be aware of the problem. Now think as if it' s just regular test and relax.

I' ve read abt amino test but not FISH test. I guess then you are gonna take both test. everything will be alright! So are you in India?.....just wondering as you have given the values in Rs. Hope you feel all better soon and get back to the board.

And abt the movement thing, I got confused with Twinkle' s as her msg was just after yours in the other post, so anyway hope your heaviness is not severe. May be you could also ask Gyn if you get to meet her this time. I was totally relieved after reading MP msg.

I didnt had my AFP test uptill now.. My gyn and the person who did my sonography felt that because I am going to do amniocentesis, which gives complete study of each and every chromosome of the baby, there was no need for AFP test...

Amniocentesis was recommended to me now because of my last unsucessful preg. After I had my miscarriage last yr, we ran a test on the foetus then, thinking, if any problem is there, we can be forewarned and take precaution in the next preg. It so happen that there was some problem in the foetus in my last preg. Therefore, amniocentesis was recommended to me this time round.

I have to do aminocentesis as its accuracy is good as compared to any other test but cos it takes 15 days to get the amnio results and I will be in hyper tension thinking about it, I thought we can also do FISH test along side it cos in FISH, we get report in 3 days.. which is not extensive like amniocentesis but main 4 cells are checked and especially the cell of last time problem and also down syndrome are checked in FISH test..

In amniocentesis, the amniotic fluid surrounding the baby is collected under sonograpic observation and then later on amniotic fluid checked. Same in FISH.. Procedure will be once only.. but testing will be different for amnio and FISH...
Cost of amniocentesis is only Rs.15000/- so my hubby was saying that we shall not run the FISH test.

But amnio report takes 15 days and also if something happens by chance to their machine in between which was suggested by that clinic.. doesnt happen they said but one never know so I dont want to take the chance.. therefore, I want to do FISH testing also, The amniotic fluid they will collect during the aminocentesis, a little extra they will collect for FISH if we tell them.. and for seperate FISH report...it will cost us Rs.5500/- more.. :((

The heaviness feeling which I have is baby movement??? I am confused?

My mom is there with us.. so yes I have help.. :) I am not trying to think about the test as it gives me tension.. uptil now I am holding pretty well... read 4 harry potter books some last few days so was totally involved in that and not thinking about the test, in a way that helped... :) but now little little feeling flutter in my heart.. that is fear.. I know.. Dont want to get tension cos that can also create problem.. read in some site and also doc said so... So trying to be positive... :)
