Hi supriya,
I am based in India and working in the office. My office timings are bit more stringent 900 to 1730hrs.Since my office is far off from my home I have to spend at least 2hrs daily in commuting from home to office and vice-versa. As decision of taking the leave is condition based I have not decided yet in regard to maternity leave but in our office we are entitled to 135days (i.e. 4 ½ months) maternity leave after confinement. I may take the leave as per the directions given by the doctor. If I will not be feeling well I may take one month leave prior to EDD. But in my opinion taking leave after the delivery is a better choice as you can spend quality time with your kid.

Hi supriya,
Am from the March board. Maternity leave is normally three months in India and during last pregnancy I worked before three days of my delivery. It is always better to work till you can so that you will be able to stay at home with your baby for more time to feed.
