Hi gals,
Hope everyone is doing fine! Here are some more tips that I promised to post.
MOVING SAFELY
To avoid straining your back, move carefully. Always think before you move. Learning the proper way to bend, lift and carry objects may help relieve the back strain. It will also help you protect your back after your baby is born. Remember if your' re having trouble protecting your back, it' s okay to ask people around you for help!
BENDING
To protect your back as you bend:
1. Put one foot slightly in front of the other. Bend at the knees and hips, pushing your hips backward. Keep your upper body as straight you can.
2. Face forward. try to keep your ears, shoulders, and hips in a line.
3. Don' t hold your breath.
LIFTING
To lift a large object or a child safely:
1. Get close to the load as you can. Face forward, to help keep your ears and shoulders aligned.
2. Use the muscles in your thighs and buttocks to stand up. As you lift, tighten your abdominal muscles.
3. Don' t hold your breath. Avoid twisting.
CARRYING
To carry a load safely:
1. Carry an object or child in front of you, not resting on your hip.
2. Break up your load in to 2 smaller bags, if you can. carry one bag on each side to maintain balance. Or, break the load in to smaller ones and take more trips.
3. Try to tighten your abdominal muslces as you walk. This helps take weight off your back.
Take care all of you and keep in touch!
Love,
KR
