Is breastmilk having any connection with mothers concern for her child. Should a mother be held responsbile for less milk or lack of it?

I have gone through a major ordeal due to less milk in the initial month after delivery. Let me assure you that milk flow will only increase if the mother is less nagged over it. She should not be constantly harassed over the quantity of milk. Moreover, the quantity of milk has nothing to do with mothers concern for her child.

I agree with sheelas opinion. No one should nag the new mother over amount of milk. Milk has nothing to do with concern and care. Cruel women may get lots of milk and gentle ones may not get it all. So there is nothing wrong with the woman.

Thanks for all the reassurance. I needed it badly. I feel that a mother should be just left to herself even if she does not produce any milk. I have gone through a lot on this issue. Unfortunately, I did not give back at the right time.

I think most women go through this problem after delivery. Actually, the root cause of the problem is something else. Children take some to suckle and since they do not suckle, milk is not generated. Sometimes, the right way to breastfeed is not followed. So, one should not lose control and most important tip to new mothers--just do not pay attention to people around you.

I am glad that many friends have come together to discuss the issue threadbare. Otherwise, I would have been left with an inferiority complex due to my indequate milk.

Read this book ..What to expect the first yr ? It will reassure U and the more u feed the more u will lactate..it takes a mth for the supply to get established and feed every hr if u have to but do not give up..if ur baby passes 6-8 urines in 24 hrs and gains abt 1/2 a kg a mth for the first 5 mths..it means u r lactating very well...do not resort to outside milk in desperation
