Hi All,
I am in dilemma this time. Just had sonogram two days ago and found out still having ovarian cyst on left ovary. I'm planning for IVF in Oct month and having no clue when to start BCP either this cycle or from the Sept month cycle. My Dr hasn't told me so far either they will start medication 7 days prior to my Oct month cycle or day2 of Oct cycle. I don't want to delay on treatment which is supposed to be start on Oct month. Nambikkai and friends give me your suggestion: Should start BCP from this cycle (right now I'm on 4days of my cycle) or should start on the Sept month. If go for BCP in Sept month, if dr want to start IVF medication 7 days prior to Oct cycle can I do both thing in the Sept month go for BCP and can start medication on 7 days before Oct cycle. Is BCP requierd before IVF for cyst?

Anupa.. Nambikkai replied. I am sorry dear I do not have exp or knowledge regarding ovarian cysts so, i am afraid I cannot be of much help there. However, I can tell you my treatment cycle.

In my case, the nasal spray was started on CD 21 and then about two weeks later ( approx 13 to 14 days) I was started on Gonal F injections after blood tests and ultrasound. Please note that I continued the nasal spray until the Gonal F started . Another important thing, you will get your periods in the span of 14 days when you are on down regulation i.e Nasal spray.

Dear..In my humble opinion I have a few suggestions for you.

1) The hospital from where I am getting treated gave me a leaflet about the treatment protocol. I guess it will be a good idea for you to ask if the hospital where you are going to be treated has some such info. Although you can read on the Net it really helps to understand the exact procedure your Doc would follow.
As it varies a little with each Doc and knowing things clearly helps ease the tension.

2) As you have a specific question it would be good if you could call/email your Doctor back in India and verify.

3) Last but not the least as Archie says have a positive attitude. In my case, I have seen three couples who conceived through IVF and delivered twin babies.So, I believe it works. I always think of them and add to my Hope store.
