hi sam,
see, some how she doesnt interfere in your work.i guess you are not aware of the situation when 2 ladies enters into a kitchen.i have faced it and still facing.i understand your feeling that your MIL should treat u like her daughter.But the reality is this wont be possible even in the dreams!How much ever we do,we are not even considered as humanbeings by MIL & FIL.be happy that you are the queen of your kitchen.unless and until she sits simply and orders you to make this and that,dont bother.think that you are serving for 2 old people.Dont ever complain to your husband.just make him feel that you manage everything and do all the chores.Atleast you can get your husbands love.you are just in your 2 yrs of your marriage life.it takes a lot to compromise & gain your hubbys feel for you.

hi samantha

I feel for you....nothing is worse then constantly being at home with inlaws who dont talk....i had the same problem after the delivary of my son my mil came to stay for a few days and she only spoke what she needed to but yet when her daughters called she talk to them till no end...and i am glad she only came for a few days and not lifetime...
Its a bit difficult...try to involved her in the kitchen..like say to her mum i am going to the kitchen to prepare for dinner etc why dont u join and sit with me and see what she says..or try going for a walk in the afternoon and asking her to come with you...what about if u found a partime job somewhere just to get u away from all this????
does any other family live near you? what about ur husband can u not have a word with him so that he can speak to his parents?

let us know what happens

How to deal with this?

He is a physician and obtained his residency training. I worked to earn for our family for two years until he got his job. Then he applied for his parents to visit us on a visiting visa. We were both wo... - Tina Shah [View Message]
RE:self centered inlaws
I agree they have completely double standards as I recently found out. I saw my husbands childhood photos when he was young. His parents claim they sacrificed everything for their kids and lived poor and behave like martyr parents. Got treated as free domestic servant. But the photos showed them dressed like Bollywood stars with watches and jewellery enjoying their life. O... - Tina [View Message]

RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
if you are rudely talking with her, then this is not way to talking with your mother in law, you tell her in polite way, your son is her grand son, so she never think about his bad effects.... - ruchita [View Message]
RE:Mother-in-law spoiling my child
hello kajal,
stop your negative thinking towards your mother in law, she is your son grand mother too, so if she gave some sweet like sugar to him its just because of her love towards him.... - reshma [View Message]
