hope all of you must be enjoying motherhood time..& some are waiting for big day to come.
About me Im really enjoying time with my baby..he is really so cute & naughty too :)I have problem in breastfeeding...Actually he is not sucking my left breast also he doesnt stay longer on my breast.During his hospital stay doctor told me that im not feeing him enough..I tried all ways but he didnt suck.I brought Breast pump & started giving him milk by bottle..
by bottle he drinks milk easily & even Im satisfied that he is having enough milk on regular interval..but I feel it could have been better if could have had milk by breast.Also I feel now milk supply from my breast comparetively less then before..do you all have any idea what I need to do exactly..as its quiet uncomfertable during night using breast pump.also I scare preserving breast milk as you will never come to know whether its spoiled or not. We all can understand, even i use to react such but my mom helped me out in all situation and explaining me things.
Sabitha is also right, u can use that method too. But u know wht i do, while changing the diper i also keep him open for 10-15 mins.And i c how many times he does toilet on me :D and that way i can make out he is doing 5n or not.ya its bit messy but this way even he is happy as whole day in diper even he must be getting irritated na. so a best way 4 my baby to enjoy n me too and ya as u know in dubai its too hot now a days so better U drink lots n lots of water everyday as the baby cant.So in this way he wont get dehydration.
and ya abut breast feed.baby likes breastfeed n that even gives them relaxation as they r soo close to mummy n enjoying milk so babys mostly sleep while having milk.
Even my little brat he drinks little n sleeps later he will ask for more milk. Docs say if the baby sleeps while having milk pinch him or such but i cant. guess non of the mom can.So dont worry ur baby will ask for food when ever he is hungry dont worry much.

I have started trying again..& yesterday i succeed..yesterday night before going to bed I fed him with breast as I think he was quiet hungry he latched properly on my breast..& that feeling was gr8..but again today morning..he didnt latched..but I wont give up your words are encourging..& I will keep trying for breastfeeding.
one more query is it ok lie down & breastfeed as here in dubai doctor say you should not feed in that way even my Mil say the same thing but in books I have read its ok..also my friends are doing same..

Dont lisen to advices with u get from all around.Diff ppl have diff opinion.Lisen too all but follow ur heart only. Even u r a mom now,n u know whts right n whts wrong for ur baby.
I had a c-section,n i wasnt able 2 feed my baby for that 1 day as i had operation n was soooo sleepy n weekness i jus wanted to sleep.so doc gave formula to my baby in start for that day.other day when i was ready to feed him he didnt wanted to suck as in bottle its easy n he had to suck n get milk here.But docs told me dont feed him formula now as he shd take breast feeding as imp. n it created bounding so after many tries he started sucking.It takes time dear. and one suggesstion burp him after every 10-15 mins of feed.... then feed him again.As my prince he does over eating n while burping he vomits out

Breastfeeding usually takes some time to settle and work out.But keep trying.Few feedings u can use a breast pump and offer baby but dont do that all the time.Then baby will prefer a bottle.Ur baby will have a 2 week visit when his weight will be checked.If his weight is increasing as needed, he is getting enough.Bottle feeding is easier for baby as not much effort is needed.Thats why he likes to suck the bottle.
Ur breast should feel heavy before a feeding and should be lighter after feeding.Babies can feed from 10 to 30 minutes on one breast.For first feeding start left and once baby leaves nipple,burp him and offer right breast.Then next feeding could be around 1 and half to 3 hours away .Offer right breast and once baby leaves that nipple,burp him and offer left.Usually babies feed longer and well on the first breast they feed.The baby usually acts contented if he is getting enough.Some babies like to suck more on breast as they r using it as a pacifier.
With this baby my experience is very different from Arjuns.Abhishek lost a lot of weight and nearly became 5 pounds by 6th day.By then his urine output also reduced and he didnt have any bowel movement after meconium. Usually hospitals offer glucose water which helps those initial days when milk is not available,only colustrum. This time nothing of that sort was given to him.After 6th day he started gaining weight.But for his 12 day visit he still didnt reach his birth weight(1 and half ounces shorter).He is gaining but very slowly.Next week i have to take him for a weight check.Iam exclusively breastfeeding him just like i did with Arjun.With Arjun for 2 and half week visit he gained one pound more than his birth weight and this baby is not even reached his birth weight.Iam a little concerned.May be too much light weight babies find it difficult to gain those initial weeks.With arjun brest feeding was a super success.U could see how well he grew when he was exclusively breastfeed.with this baby iam worried all the time. meenakshi replied. Hi poonam ,i am also dealing with same problem during my stay in hospital nurses informed that the baby was still hungry after feeding and is not getting enough milk and recommended me for formula. So the baby had some formula in the hospital. After comming home baby was not ready to breast feed and after lot of tries he was successful but still the latching is an issue and does not latch properly which makes my nipples sore. I am using a nipple shield which is bit helpfull.Even I Pump the breast milk and bottel feed him.
Breast Milk can be stored at room temp till 4 hrs(No direct sun light). If refregerated it can be used for 4-7 days and if frozen can be used for 4-6 months.
