Hope your cold and cough is better now. I would also recommend what Disha said.. first try home remedies like steaming, gargling and hot liquids as that will give relief to the symptoms and the medicines for cold also provide relief for symptoms. The cold and cough will take its time to be cured as they are caused by virus.

I was down with severe cold and cough last week and all i did was steaming and gargling and it really helped. With the weather changing, we cant help much. However, meet once with your doc to check and see that your chest and throat are clear and you do not have an infection, coz if you are having infection, then that would need to be treated.. take care..

Dont worry..I had cold and cough every month ...I asked my doctor and she said no medicines at first but later allowed to me have ceratin medicine / syrup. But i didnt take it..was too scared to try it.
I would say..ask your doctor or else do home remedies like taking steam inhalation,applying vicks,having hot water , if you have sore throat..gargle with salt hot water. Have Hot milk with some turmeric powder in it. Warm water with honey and lemon helps too...

Take care ..and dont worry...we all have to go through all this as we cant have proper medicine at this time and even later i guess when we breast feed...
