Due Date Club February 2005:My birth story
2005-02-16
Name: Hana

Hello ladies, It has been three days and so far so good. I think I am more experienced this time having gone with all the first time problems with my son!!

Feeding is going ok, my milk started coming in a bit but my nipple are very sore. Baby gets up 3-4 times at night which is tiring but at least I can rest during the day time which is great. My in-laws are here and they are such a great help -I have no words.

Now my birth story. I started getting mild contractions on sunday early morning which would last aout 3-4 secs. It was like a mild period cramps. The next morning when I called my midwife she said it is not labour just braxton hicks and I should take a hot bath two pain killers and go to sleep the pain will go away.

Despite doing that the cramps did not go away and I was very uneasy. I tried to walk around as much as possible and also went for a walk to the park in the evening with DH.

By 7pm I had a bloody discharge and the cramps got worse and would last longer. It was obvious that labour was in progress. My midife asked me to go to the hospital when the contractions lasted 30-60 seconds and I had 3 contractions in 10 mins. That happened at 10pm and that's when I went to the hospital. Baby was born at 1am.

Good luck and hoping to hear of more additions soon.
