talat replied. hi everybody,my baby is thirteen month old ,she walks with my finger support from the last two months, but when we try to leave her,she gets scared and starts falling.she does not want to try walking alone, she is too scared.please advice, she is other wise a healthy baby.i put her on walker sometimes, tried pushtrolley but she did not like it.she want to walkaround but not without support.any solution.
Hetal replied. 1. she holds your hands or dress and walks right,,,hold her hand and let her hold your hand and walk.
2. after a couple steps, loose your grip of your hand and give her your finger to hold..keep walking.
3. after a couple steps, just touch her and walk with her !
4. see if leaving her helps her to walk alone..leave her and go in front of her face to face,,give her your eye to eye contact and call her...assure her that you are there for her if she falls..at the same time motivate her,,good see you can walk, you can do it,,,come on,,come here,,and so on !!!
she is just scared,,she needs alot of motivation and above mentioned repeated sessions,,that will help her gain the confidence...
or hold her walking side by side nd just leave your grip on her and see if she can walk without support,,if she can,,motivate her,,if she is not able to walk, she needs to be checked by your dr ! because at 14months its expected that she can hold her wght on her own legs at without support,if not walk !
make her stand to some furniture,,ask her to come to you and keep calling her,,show her fav toy and let her stand alone holding the furniture,,until she takes a step ahead !
see if ne of these work or talk to your dr,,he might arrange some such sessions with yourr child and she can gain confidence likewise !
good luck

Thanks very much Hetal... I do most of it that u have told, like walk holding her hand, losening the grip, and sometimes let my hand go off and she will run upto me.. but she does not walk all alone... like she will hold a furniture, n when i show my hand she will take steps towards me, and then i go a little farther from her, and she will run to me.... so fast that she might fall.. sometimes when she is engrossed in her toys or sometimes, she will take 3-4 steps..... yeah, she is very scared.... i will talk to our dr next visit.. thanks.
