Due Date Club February 2005:My Update

Hi All

well, in my case I have learnt that it is very very important to be cool & calm at this time, Im in my 37th week, since tuesday I had very feeble baby movements
then on wednesday I visited my doc , my BP was high & also the foetal HB was also high , they got it down , everything was normal & they sent me home, it was fine for 2 days.

later on friday also I did not feel much baby movements, so I went to my doctor again, I had to see another doctor since my Doc was on leave, they found my BP high , foetal HB also high, they said that they may either have to induce ( which has only 5-10% chances of normal delivery) or go for C-section
I was terrified at the idea of C-section, I refused and waited till my Doc came back, she admitted me in the hospital, did an internal and found that the cervix was still not ripe/ dialated & said that I need to wait for atleast 1 week

then for next 24 hours they monitored my BP & foetal HB every 2 hours, she asked me to remain calm, & dont get too anxious / feel tension , she really supported me, all readings were normal & yesterday night I came back home, she just asked me to have the BP checked up every day & come after 3 days

Aarti - I was just reading your mail , I think you should relax & be calm as swapna says , its really not good for the baby , Im also in my 37th week, & have no signs of going to labour , so I guess we all just have to wait & enjoy our pregnancy

take care
Usha

Dear Usha and others,
Just want to let you know, running away from C-section always brings you close to C-section possibility. Becasue you are stressed out and tensed that C-section is last resort I want to go through and your body hormones don't co-operate well, this often leads to emergency C-section given that you went in labor without induction.

No, induction won't lead to C-section (by 90%). When induced in a good hospital almost 95% cases ends up with vaginal birth.

Usha, don't stress out and try to stay calm this is key for you to get closer to vaginal delivery.

I did mention to you already to keep monitored your BP on regular basis. I meant to check it each day or twice a day.
Good luck.
Archie
