Dear Archie,

I went for my weekly check up yesterday. The doctor mentioned that the baby hadn't turned down yet. The head is on my right side. I'm completing 37 weeks tomorrow. is there a chance that the baby will turn or will it be in the same position. The baby was head down during my 34th week. Doctor mentioned that the baby will turn and there is a 96% chance i can have a vaginal birth. otherwise i need to go for a C-section and he would not try to turn the baby to head down position as he is not sure how the amniotic bands are and if it will affect the baby and doesnt want to take a chance.

last week when i went for a scan, baby heart beat was 184 and yesterday it was 134. can there be such a huge difference in the heart beat.doc said baby is growing so there is no problem. i'm worried about this too. can you please advice if it is fine

Regards,
Anitha

Dear Archie,

Thanks for remembering me. I had another ultrasound yesterday (completed 36 weeks yesterday). This was to monitor the amniotic bands again as the baby is growing. I dont have the report with me. I have a checkup on wednesday. I shall get my scan report on that day and will post what it says. The scan doctor mentioned that the bands were still existing but not affecting the baby. I was relieved when he said that. There are amniotic bands and amniotic band syndrome(ABS). Amniotic band is some kind of a tissue in the uterus. ABS is where some fetal part gets stuck to these bands and that part doesnt function. My prev scans have assured that i'm out of ABS. Thank god. But it's very scary to hear. Now i'm very confident that the baby will not be affected coz of this. I'm due Feb 25th.
My love to your lil one.
Love,
Anitha

Dear Anitha,
I am relieved as well. It's so reassuring after every U/S. Your little one is full term and this is the best news along with he/she being free from amniotic bands.
Will wait to hear your OB's comment.
With Warm Regards
Archie
