I believe that international women's day should be celebrated all over because it gives confidence to women. There is a hidden truth in the article that the celebration of this one day cannot change anything in the everyday problems of women, but i think change takes time. The day is celebrated not because what we are going through today but what we have achieved from the past. Therefore even in future the progress and success of women is inevitable. If we start thinking the way it is mentioned in the article then we rather not celebrate any day at all - neither independence day nor republic day, no birthdays either - after all they are all 'just another days' in our lives. But the fact is that in the long run celebration always has its own impacts !

I guess this concept of Women's Day has to be channelized down the line to every social strata so that all are awred of it & can feel proud of being one & not just sad & repent as to why has god made them a female...... so lets give all women who are home makers, corporates & ones who are honoured to give birth to an individual A Salute for their contribution...... Three cheers to all Hip Hip Hurrey!!!

how do those ladies celebrate women's day who don't have support from their husband amd love from their in-laws who says that he loves her but when the time comes to show he turns his back and dose'nt stand for her so showing love for that one day dose'nt make your day special be loving and supportive anytime when she needs u then there's no need of just one special day every day will be women's day and a women will not wait for that one particular day every year 8th March

I think women's day is a celebration of womanhood. And its more for woman to realize that they are human beings and they have capabilities. Instead of blaming other people, if we rise for ourselves, that'll really make a difference.. Nobody is going to do anything for you. We'll have to get all our rights for ourselves.

It feels good to have a dedicated to Women. but if not taken in the right meaning, it will soon pass off as just any other 'Day' meant to be celebrated. We need to realize that the Women's Liberation Movement has uptil now been able to benefit mainly the upper and middle class women. The women of the lower strata of society still are aloof of their rights. And why should such women in order to be salvaged be trained for making Papads and weaving bamboo baskets? surely, they are worth more than that. Nevertheless, it's great to be a woman!

Only good days are rememberd and celebrated. We celebrate our birthday, independence day and many other days. We never celebrate a death or an accident. Hence celebrating International Womens Day should be taken up in the right direction, because woman is God's brilliant creation and the whole world know the significance of women in their lives, in their sorrounding and in their struggle for life.

Although it is called International Women's Day, women in India hardly know about it. Yes, some corporates do hold events and all, but that is still limited to the cities. I think it is hightime that our INDIAN government did something about this day.
