Eddie The Elephant Finds a Friend

Once upon a time, in a faraway jungle, there lived an elephant called Eddie.

Eddie was an enormous elephant.

He had a long trunk,
two big flappy ears, two white tusks,
four strong legs and one tiny tail.

One day Eddie went for a walk.
He was feeling lonely and sad.
None of the other animals wanted to play with him and he had no other elephant friend to play.

He walked slowlyi..........Thump, Thump, Thump.
He saw rabbits playing on the grass.
"Hello," said Eddie to the rabbits. "Will you play with me?"
"Oh no, Eddie you are too big to play with us. Go and play with someone else," said the rabbits rudely.

Eddie walked on slowly. Suddenly Montu eagle flew down from the sky,

"Hello!" said Eddie to the Eagle. "Where are you going?"
"I have just eaten a nice apple. I am going to find some water to drink," said the eagle.
"Come let's have a race to the river," said Eddie

They both race to the river where they find Mother
Duck looking rather worried.
"What happened, Mrs. Duck?" asks Eddie

"I went for a swim and now I have forgotten where I kept my eggs! Please can you help me find them quickly? I am afraid Kannu Crocodile may find them and eat my eggs for his breakfast!"

Montu the Eagle and Eddie Elephant begin to look around. Suddenly Eddie spots the eggs hidden near the tall grass.

"Here are your eggs, Mrs. Duck," says Eddie.
"Thank you Eddie my friend!" says Mrs. Duck,
relieved to have found her eggs.

Montu the Eagle flies off to find food while Eddie returns to the forest, happy to have done a good deed.

On the way he meets an elephant driving a cycle.
"Hello, my name is Eddie."

"And my name is Ellie!" says the other elephant. "I used to stay in the circus but now I am lost and I don't have any friends. Will you be my friend?" She asks Eddie

"Yes! I would love to be your friend!
"Come, let's play with my cycle!" Says Ellie happily.
And Eddie and Ellie Elephant became friends and always played together and Eddie was never lonely again.
