Sexually Transmitted Diseases
Sexually transmitted diseases, STDs for short, are "infections transmitted from one person to another during intercourse or other intimate contacts." AIDS is the big daddy of them all, but that's not the only one. There are others which you must have heard of like Genital herpes, Genital warts, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, Chlamydia and Hepatitis-B.

AIDS
AIDS is caused by a virus now called the HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus). Three strains have been confirmed, HIV-I, HIV-II, HIV-III. Viruses basically are extremely small (20 - 300 nanometers) parasites, which multiply inside the cells of human beings who act as their hosts.
