10 Signs That You Are a Perfect Parent

Perfect parenting is all about inculcating good values, virtues, habits, manners and discipline in children. It is about raising children into well rounded and well balanced individuals. Let us take a quick look at the 10 signs of a perfect parent.

Do you doubt your parenting style? Are you not sure if you are doing the right job while rearing your kids? As a parent, you have lots of responsibilities in shaping the personality and character of your kids. You are definitely a perfect parent if you are capable of importing right virtues and values to your kids. Still if you are worried, here are 10 signs to help you judge yourself if you are a perfect parent.

1. Spend Quality Time

You cannot ignore household chores and office work, but you should not ignore the most important thing in your kids’ life – spending time with parents. So if you spend quality time with your kids no matter how much busy you are otherwise, you are a great parent.

2. Love Unconditionally

If you can express your love to your kids through physical touch, for example, kisses, cuddles, hugs, etc., then you are nailing it. Showing love boosts your kids’ confidence and it can be through words of appreciation and care also.

3. Do Not Criticize Your Kids

If your kid has done something, then if you explain him or her what he or she did was wrong and tell him or her the consequences of the wrong deed instead of criticizing him or her as wrong, then you are on the right path of parenthood. Blaming kids upset them; instead make them realize their mistakes.

4. Catch Your Kids Doing Good

If you are a parent who appreciates for even the smallest good things your kids do, then you are amazing. Appreciation keeps motivating your kids to do good more and forever. Even rewarding kids for good deeds is a positive action to be taken.

5. Respect Your Kids

No matter how young they are – if you always respect your kids and talk to them politely irrespective of their age, then you are doing the right job of teaching them how to respect and talk politely. Instilling manners and discipline in kids is important and it starts from how you behave to them.

6. Make Them Responsible

If you have decided to allow your kids to take responsibilities, such as arranging their toys or books on their own, then you have done the right thing. The bigger they get, the bigger the responsibilities they will be able to take and manage independently.

7. Never Beat Them

If you are a parent who chooses alternative ways of punishing kids for their wrong deeds instead of just beating and using abusive words on them, then you are an ideal parent. Teaching violence can cause bad consequences in future – never hit your kids.

8. Forgive Them

Learning how to forgive is not an easy thing. If you forgive your kids for their mistakes after teaching them the right things – then your kids will look up to you forever and will also learn how to forgive others when it will be their turn.

9. Set Rules and Follow

If you have set rules after discussing their importance and consequences for breaking them, then your kids will surely be following them. Explaining purposes for rules is important and no perfect parent forgets to do that.

10. Be Honest

Do not lie to your kids be it any situation. Falsifying can teach your kids to lie. Kids look up to parents, so if you lie, then your kids will think it is fine to lie. So if you are a parent who strictly follows honesty is the only virtue with kids, then you are a perfect parent.

Raising a child is a prime task – but if you carry out these above-mentioned actions as a parent, then you are already a winner. You are doing a great job in shaping the next generation by instilling the right qualities in them.
