Ryan Finds a Friend

This tale will not only enchant your child, but it will also challenge his creativity and imagination, and improve his vocabulary.

Challenge your child's creativity and imagination by asking him to fill in the blanks. He can fill one, two or more words in each blank he comes across! For eg: Ryan was a skinny little boy, 7 years old, who lived in a small town called Boom Shakalaka.
So take a print-out of this story, and get started!

"_______ ", whispered Ryan. I heard a _____ noise coming from the woods, and I'm going to investigate.
"I know," ______ whispered back. "I heard it too! What do you think it is?"
"Well, lets go and find out!"
"You mean just the two of us?" _______ trembled with fear. "I'm _______. Maybe we should take _____ with us."
Oh, don't be ______. I've taken the magic ______, so we should be quite safe. We will not go very far, I promise. You don't have to come if you don't want to. I will be back in a ______.
"No, no. I'm coming with you," whispered _________. "Let's go."
So the two of them set of into the woods. They hadn't gone very far when they heard it again, and this time the noise seemed to be coming from directly _______ them. "Mommy!" screamed ____. He started to run and immediately fell down. "I can't see. It's so dark! Where are you?" Suddenly Ryan remembered his magic ______. His hand tightened around it. "_________" he said. A powerful torch magically appeared, lighting up the surrounding area.
Feeling better, the _____ crept slowly in the direction of the noise. It was coming from just behind the ________. As they neared, the noise got ______ and _______. They held hands, and walked past the ______, and what did they see? The most beautiful little pond lay in front of their eyes, and by the pond there was a baby ____. The boys turned off their torches when they saw that the _______ was getting _________, and they slowly crept closer and closer until they were sitting by the side of the _______. "Oh, look! He has a huge thorn in his ____! And he was crying with pain! Oh, you poor _____, how you frightened us! But don't worry little one. Ryan took out his magic ______ again, said "_______", and the thorn fell out, and the _____ started healing in front of their eyes.
There you go, little fella, said Ryan, as he let him down. Go on now, and they waited for the _____ to run off, but he didn't. He _____ gazed back at Ryan with large, mournful eyes as if to say "____________________________."
"Do you think we should take him with us?"
"Let's see," said Ryan. The two started walking away, and the little _____ started following them.
"I guess we have our answer," said ____ excitedly. He doesn't have a home, so he is following us. We can't leave him here all alone!
"But where will we keep him? ______ would never let ___ keep him at ____ house!"
"That's true. Hmmmm…." That's it! ____ snapped his fingers! I have an idea! Let's keep him in the tree house!"
"Of course!" said _____ happily. "And I'm going to name him ________!"
"Yaay!" shouted _______, lifting the little _______ off the ground and giving him a kiss. "I love you ______!"
And _____ wagged his ____, as if to say, "I love you too!"
