Signs that Your Child is Disconnected with You

Children who avoid talking to their parents, hide something from them constantly and prefer to be alone all the time are disconnected with their parents. Let us take a look at some more signs exhibited by children who are disconnected with their parents.

Busy parents often face this problem and come up to doctors for a proper counselling of their children. But this disconnection does not happen in a day, this is the effect of constant neglect of parents. Here are some signs given which when you experience tells you that you have drifted away from your child.

Aggression

If you find your children quite aggressive at times and in spite of your constant telling them to stop does not affect them in any way, is the sign that you have a made a distance from your kids; now they are not ready to listen to you.

Constant Mood Swings

Behavioural disorders may happen to kids if they have a troubled childhood. They may be devoid of the love and warmth of their parents in their childhood. They experienced constant neglect from their parents.

Keeping Secrets to Themselves

If your kids do not want to share anything with you and keep their secrets to themselves then it is a sign of disconnection with your kid.

Fear and Anxiety

When you find your kids stressed and anxious due to some reasons but fears to share it with you despite your innumerable request to share it, shows that they are not comfortable with their own parents. This is a clear sign that your kids have already drifted apart from you.

Cannot Look Into Your Eyes

If you find your kids stealing your gazes every time both of you come face to face, means they do not want to talk to you. This is a clear sign of ignorance and in most of the cases parents are responsible for this.

Maintains a Distance

Sometimes it happens that you have arranged a party and have invited some of his friends to dinner, but your kids clearly try to maintain a distance from you and they are not even introducing their friends to you. This means they do not want your interference with their friends. This is very embarrassing for parents as well as saddening enough when you understand that your kid does not like your presence in front of his friends.

Tries to Solve out Their Problems On Their Own

When kids try to solve out their problems themselves and do not even ask their parents for help, it shows that the presence of their parents is not important in their lives. Even when they need help in times of emergencies, they will ask their friends for help or others but never their parents. This shows how you are disconnected with your kids.

Arguments

If your kid argues with you at every point or the other and takes up everything opposite of what you say shows that how different they are from their parents. Your opinions do not match with that of your kids and you end up in useless arguments. It becomes a power struggle where you want to get back control on your kids but your kids do not pay any heed to you.

Does Not Respect You

Respect is something that should be earned and cannot be taken by force. If your kids do not respect you, you cannot force them to respect you. They think that they are just another person in the house who has no connection with their parents and prefers to remain aloof and alone always. They prefer to spend time alone. This is what shows that an invisible wall has been created between you and your children, which is very strong due to the ego factor.
As a parent you need to break this wall and behave normally with your child. From the very beginning respond to each and every need of your kids, spend quality time with them and encourage them express themselves so that they can relate to you as they grows up.

Why do children get disconnected with parents? How to know if children are getting disconnected from parents? What are the ways to build strong bonding with children? Discuss here.
