Early Signs and Symptoms of Pregnancy

Many women discover that they were pregnant after miscarriage is caused. As such it is very necessary for a woman to know that she is pregnant during the early stage of pregnancy so that she can take right precaution. Read on to know more about the early signs and symptoms of pregnancy.

Pregnancy brings a mixed feeling of joy, anxiety and uncertainty in the woman who is not actually sure whether she is pregnant or not. This usually happens at the time of first pregnancy. Although to know for sure whether you are pregnant, you need to visit a doctor and get your tests done. However, if you know about the early symptoms of pregnancy, you can at least save yourself from any kind of harassment or embarrassment.

Early Symptoms of Pregnancy

  1. Missed menstrual periods or very less bleeding during periods.
  2. Darkening of nipples
  3. Formation of excess saliva
  4. Backache
  5. Constipation – This is caused most often because the size of the uterus grows and it presses against the bowel.
  6. Sleepiness or exhaustion – This starts right from the first week of pregnancy and lasts almost till the last one.
  7. Craving for certain food items
  8. Repeated and frequent urination – This starts normally after six weeks of pregnancy and most often remains throughout the pregnancy period. This is usually due to hormonal changes and because there is pressure on the bladder too.
  9. Nausea and vomiting – This symptom is seen from two to ten weeks of pregnancy and is normally known as morning sickness. However, it can happen anytime in the day.
  10. Abdominal cramps especially in the lower abdomen
  11. Headaches
  12. Swollen or tender breasts – This can be experienced very quickly and that is after only two weeks of conception.

Although these are some of the main and common symptoms of pregnancy, women experience different and typical symptoms also. Some feel stress, change in diet, illness and many other symptoms also. However, if you have a combination of one or two symptoms mentioned here, it is better to consult your doctor so that you know about the status and get confirmation.

Nowadays there are various home pregnancy tests also and most of them are reliable too. You can buy the test unit and get it done within 10 – 14 days of fertilization. However, if you get a positive pregnancy test, you need to consult your health care provider and get the necessary tests done.

Once you have been confirmed about your pregnancy, you need to take care of your health properly. Read and learn about the precautions and collect information that is right and scientific. It is good to follow the doctor’s advice rather than going through traditional way of living pregnancy period. Try to enjoy the journey because it is a unique period and your life will not be the same anymore.

It is very necessary to be aware of the pregnancy so that right precautions can be taken. Otherwise the problems like miscarriage can be cause due to improper care. Also extreme care is required during first three months of pregnancy. Some women know that they are pregnant after two three months which should not be the scenario.

The most common sign of pregnancy is absence of the menstrual period. However, it is not the only sing of pregnancy. Sometimes, if there is hormonal imbalance in some women they do not get periods which does not mean that they are pregnant.

Therefore, every woman should know about the signs of pregnancy if she in not taking any precaution while having sex.
