Women carrying multiple pregnancies should take extreme care of their health. Right diet and exercise regimen should be followed and at the same time proper preparations should be done for childbirth. Read on to know more about the safety precautions which should be taken by women carrying multiple pregnancies

In recent past it has been observed that the number of multiple pregnancies has increased. There are many reasons behind this and the would-be parents need to make some preparations for the multiple births. Though every pregnant woman has to take safety measures, in the case of multiple pregnancies, it is all the more important.

Multiple pregnancies are called high risk pregnancy and both, the mother and the child are at risk throughout the pregnancy period and during childbirths as well. More and different kinds of tests are made and the mother is followed more closely. There are many health concerns when a woman is pregnant with multiple children.

Warning Signs during Multiple Pregnancies

Here are some of the warning signs during multiple pregnancies.

Bleeding During Pregnancy –

Bleeding in the initial period of pregnancy is more in multiple child birth as compared to those who carry single children. Some women miscarry one of the babies and continue carrying the others giving birth of the rest of them in good condition.

Placental Problems –

Placental problems that occur during multiple pregnancies may result to c-section. Abnormal bleeding or pain in the lower part of the abdomen should be reported and checked out by the doctor immediately.

Late Detection can Be Risky –

Early detection of multiple pregnancies is important so that precautions can be taken to have a safe childbirth.

Safety Precautions During Multiple Pregnancy

Have a quick look at safety precautions which women should take while carrying multiple pregnancies.

Diet –

It is very important to take proper and nutritious diet throughout the pregnancy period. Since you are carrying multiple children, nutrition is extremely important for the proper growth and safe delivery. You need to increase folic acid and calcium intake when you are carrying more than one baby. Increased intake of protein and iron is also important. Try to take all your nutrition through natural process and take the supplements prescribed by the doctor without fail.

Weight –

Women carrying multiples have a tendency to gain more weight. However, the weight you will gain also depends on what your weight was before pregnancy and the number of fetus you are carrying in your womb. You should make it certain to talk to the doctor.

Comfort –

In multiple pregnancies, you will be suffering from the discomforts of pregnancy more intensely. Try to eat small, regular and frequent meals to get along with your food intake and put forward your discomfort as well. Taking a warm water bath and relaxing at regular intervals will be of great help. Your partner can also help you stay relaxed by helping along with small works.

Preparing for Childbirth –

You might feel overwhelmed and concerned about the multiple births. You need to educate yourself regarding all this and talk to your doctor about the risk factors. Calm down and talk to your partner. You will feel better.

Multiple pregnancies have high risks. You should be careful and take all necessary measures during pregnancy. However, there is no need to worry a lot. Do some yoga and light exercises as recommended by the doctor and remain calm and relaxed. Meditation and breathing exercises help a lot. Multiple births are most often premature. So, pay attention to warning signs and keep in touch with the doctor throughout the pregnancy period.

a healthy diet will surely help you deal with multiple pregnancy along with a positive attitude. Be relaxed and mentally prepared for childbirth. rather than hearing horror stories about multiple pregnancies, focus on positive and happy ones. some form of physical activity is helpful

i am expecting triplets. i am very worried about my delivery and labour pains. will i be able to cope it? my friend had lot of complications during her multiple pregnancy and this has made me more nervous.

diabetes can be scary especially when you are planning to get pregnant. taking care assumes a whole new meaning as you have to think about conceiving. all you need for a healthy pregnancy is to constantly monitor and control the blood sugar levels.
