NECESSARY TO PREVENT LOSS OF SIGHT
1.
Essential to eat dark green leafy and red/yellow colour vegetables
(spinach, tomatoes, carrots) and fruits as they are rich in Vitamin 'A'.
2.
Keep eyes clean and free from flies.
3.
Immunise against measles.
4.
Take precautions against conjunctivitis.
GOOD

PRECAUTIONS FOR CARE OF YOUR EYES

Wash
eyes and face with clean water. If dirt, sand or foreign matter enters
the eye, get a nurse or doctor to clean it. When eyes are red or sticky
with pus, get them cleaned very carefully.

Take
adequate precautions to prevent ailments affecting eyes – e.g. Conjunctivitis
and measles.

Watch
TV from distance of 3 meters.

Pregnant
women should be screened thoroughly with the help of pathology test to
detect any carrier infection or condition of diabetes as these conditions
may cause blindness in the child the mother has conceived.

Early
medical intervention is best to restore sight in case of preventable blindness.
