Between parents or close friends, graciousness and manners may not be much essential as the children are aware of each other’s sensitiveness and characters. But while interacting with strangers, in public places or during family occasions and gatherings, practicing good manners is a must.
Parents should concentrate more on teaching manner to children and never ignore the bad behaviours. Actions speak louder than the words. Hence, importance of teaching manners to children should be known to every parent. Here is why every parent must focus on inculcating good manners in his or her children.

Creating Good Impression

Children meet hundreds and thousands of people at the time of schooling and college education. Though the meetings look short-term and phony, manner plays a major role to judge the character of the child and others do remember their behaviour for many years. In addition, educate the children to have a nice haircut, decent smile, smart dressing and bright face in order to feel confident from within.

Inculcating Dignity

Nowadays, children are very much behind gadgets and electronic devices. Chatting through social media platforms is limiting face-to-face interaction. As less time is required to communicate through social media apps and ease of its use, people are avoiding the actual conversation that can be done by meeting personally. In such scenarios, only the way in which children talk to someone face-to-face can show their manners. The words used for communication are very important so that no one is hurled or embarrassed. Children will know that they will be treated as uncultured individuals if they do not speak to others with dignity.

Earning Respect

Manner is very important in this world to maintain good relationship with friends and neighbours. No child is born with bad habits or behaviour. The good manners are taught to them when they grow up stage-by-stage in order to earn the respect to lead a peaceful life. Each respectful manner is countable for shaping their attitude and characters.

Teaching to Address Others the Right Way

The way the kids greet others is very important. Encourage the children to address the people with Mr. or Ms. and that gives a very good opinion about the kid when they mingle in a public event or activities. Teach the child to have a good eye contact when speaking to others and only then others will value their conversation. Shaking hands, saying “hello” are some of the common greeting manners which will help them throughout their lives.

Inculcating Dining Manners

Dining manners will help the children to have a proper meal and learn to keep the place clean and tidy. Organized process of breakfast, lunch and dinner on daily basis at home can aid the kids to have their food on time and this helps in inculcating punctuality. When the children are involved in a public function or party, they will behave in such a way that they are respected and appreciated by the guests for their dining etiquettes.

Teaching Public Place Manners

While travelling or riding on road, children must follow some manners. They must be taught to avoid spiting and throwing wastes on road, using zebra crossing and following all the traffic and road-safety rules. Children who get used to the procedures of driving in the younger age will be able to track the same in their adulthood as well. This kind of manners will assist them in avoiding accidents or unnecessary chances of wounding.
Simply asking a kid to follow some rules and regulations is not a big deal. The importance of every conduct must be taught to them during early childhood. Never underestimate the children with their innocence and childish behaviour. Give a clear picture of every action and its results to them to help them grow into well-balanced individuals.
