Have you ever tried rubber band method to discipline your children? Rubber band method is a constructive way to discipline children. Find out how this method works while disciplining children.

The rubber band method for disciplining children is one of the oldest methods suggested by the doctors, when it becomes nerve wracking for the parents to tackle their children. It is a way of rescue that doctors suggest to thousands of parents who come with the same complaints about their kids; how their kids misbehave and how stubbornly they refuse to listen to their parents. These complaints are very common with kids and doctors found out this rubber band method to enable the parents to notice the good things about their kids.

Rules for Using Rubber Band Method

Rubber band method involves placing three rubber bands preferably of three different colours on the right wrist of the parent every morning. Then one by one each of the rubber bands are to be moved from the right wrist to the left wrist during the whole day. Each of the rubber bands is to be moved from the right wrist to the left wrist only when you find your kids doing something good that is praiseworthy.

Whenever you praise your kids you should move the bands from your right wrist to the left one. Even if the good activities done by your kids are of a very little significance even then it deserves praises from you. Do not ignore even the simplest attempts of your kids to do something that deserves some good and caring words of praise from you. Try to appreciate the efforts of your kids; do not look at the results always. These effort and hard work means a lot when it comes to your child’s career.

How Does Rubber Band Method Help?

Here is how rubber band method works while disciplining children.

Eliminate the Frustration of Parents

Those parents who are frustrated about their kids because they cannot find their kids doing anything praiseworthy will be happy when after the end of the day they will find the rubber bands exchanged from one hand to the other. It will bring them immense happiness if they fall short of the rubber bands. That would mean that are many good things that the kids do the entire day that needs to be praised.

Make the Kids Happy

When the kids find that their activities are being noticed by the parents and they are getting praised for every good work, they become extremely happy and try to perform better than the previous effort. This encourages the kids to try even harder and to please their parents.

Encouragement from the parents to work hard and reach the goal with a single minded determination is very important in a child’s life. Once they get frustrated with the failures they will fear to take up challenges in future which may be the cause for this downfall. So it is very important for the parents to urge their kids for a better future. They should be constantly pushed towards achieving their goals in every possible ways whatsoever. They should be made to understand that failure is a part of life and it should be overcome.

Overlooking Stops

Those parents who freak out often and rush to doctors because they find out abnormalities in their children not having any good qualities and behaving in an odd manner, this method serves the best for those parents. It helps them find out the good qualities in their children; those qualities which they overlooked and could not find out in their kids before trying out the rubber band method. When they find the reasons to praise their kids they are pacified of the thought that their kids are absolutely normal and their odd behaviour can be rectified with care.

Thus this rubber band method serves the purpose of the parents in finding out the virtues in their kids that are praiseworthy.
