The only thing you should keep in mind is that the products and their uses are only for minor problems. If there is any persistent or severe injury, you should immediately contact a doctor. In case if you are allergic to these ingredients or they do not suit you, you must avoid using them.

Common Kitchen Ingredients as First-aid

Here are some common ingredients from your kitchen cabinet with can be uses as natural remedies for certain health ailments.

Turmeric

Turmeric has antiseptic qualities and is said to have more healing power than any other spices found in kitchen. It contains substance that is anti-inflammatory and antioxidant as well. It is normally used to bring colour to curries. Its beauty benefits are also remarkable.

Honey

Busy morning hours in kitchen can result in minor burns and scalds often. If you happen to burn your finger or any part of your hand or body, the first thing you should do is put the area under cool running water. Once the burning sensation subsides, you can apply a thin coat of honey on the surface. Honey can also be used for curing cough.

Ginger

Ginger is very useful in dealing with cough and cold. Some ginger juice mixed with honey can help to cure cough and cold easily. Including ginger in the diet can help to boost immunity as well.

Garlic

Garlic has many benefits specially when taken fresh and raw. It is said to normalize your blood pressure and help you stay away from common viral infections and allergies by strengthening your immune system. It is advised to take raw garlic in the morning as it can reduce blood sugar levels also.
Garlic is also used in pains, bruises, minor ear infection, killing and expelling pinworms, ringworms and many more. If you are worried about the bad breath, you can consume lemon juice after taking garlic or just suck a piece of lemon.

Carom Seeds (Ajwain)

Carom seeds are very useful to deal with problems like stomach ache, indigestion and gas. If you are coping with any of the stomach ailments, you can chew spoonful of carom seeds and drink water, you will feel much better after that. Carom seeds can also help to deal with problems like cough and cold.

Garcinia Indica (Kokum)

Garcinia indica or kokum is very good to deal with eczema. Kokum if rubbed on eczema can help to cure it. However, it may not be the permanent solution. So, you must take the advice of your doctor as well for dealing with it.

Vinegar

Vinegar has been used as first-aid product since many years. Vinegar helps get rid of dandruff and get relief from sunburns, bee stings, sore throat and even itching of mosquito bite. If you are suffering from cold, you can take vinegar with warm water and honey to get relief. It can also be used to clean dentures.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon powder helps reduce blood sugar level. It is good to take it first thing in the morning. You can also have this powder twice if your blood sugar level is high.
