Make it a Daily Activity

One good way is to make them write daily and give any name to this writing or prepare a game which will include writing. So instead of writing you can use the word playing for your reluctant young writers at home. Every parent should take this responsibility to play with them, this will help them to encourage quickly and they would enjoy this activity if they see their parents too playing it and having fun. In this process communication between you and your child will also play a vital role for encouraging them to write. There are various patterns of games listed below which you can play with your child to make them write.

Playing Writing Games

You can tell your child to choose a subject on which you will both write on it and next turn will be yours to choose the subject on which you wish that your child should write. Pretending as if you do not understand anything and asking them questions and getting the answers in written form from them. Giving them dictations and telling them to write on computer, this is a way of encouraging them to write. Praising their efforts from time to time to motivate and encourage writing more and more. You can also use some gifts or chocolates in the form of praising.Always play 2 to 3 games because a game should be short otherwise your child would not love to play it any more.

In newspapers we daily see a column for crosswords or puzzle tell them to solve it, this will increase their vocabulary and will also encourage them to write and use the new words in their writings. If there is any hobby of your child use it for writing, like designing tell them to write few lines about their each design. You may also have a family album tell them to write about each photo the name of the person present in that picture and name of the event and when the event was held.

There are various techniques which parents and teachers are using to motivate the children to write but after some extent they all fail. The positive attitude in parents is lacking. Remember the first time when your baby started to speak which made you jump with joy. The word spoken at that time had no meaning or there was nothing specific or correct in that word but still you all got happy and this motivated your child to speak further. The same excitement they want to see in order to get motivated to write this time.
