My daughter, Sunaina, a pre-schooler , has just started learning all about the animals and their children. She knows that a cat has kittens, a lion gets cubs, etc. One evening, last week, we had to go for a wedding. As Sunaina hates meeting people, she was reluctant to come. But as we could not leave her alone at home, we forced her to come. As we entered a distant relative came up to us and patted her on the head saying, “How cute, is this your kid?” At which Sunaina, shot back, “How dare you call my mother a goat?” That relative has stopped speaking to us. – Varuna Jhatka.
I was returning from the States last year, and had purchased a few too many electronic goods. I had managed to keep most of them concealed, as I had decided to declare just a few. What I did not count on was my innocent 7 year old. As my bags were being opened, he excitedly pointed to one saying, “Look underneath is my new ice-cream maker.
