Priest of the Parish

Benches are numbered and arranged one behind the other sequentially. Teams are made and they sit on those benches and they have the same number as the bench.

Number of players: Unlimted, but organised into equal groups of about 4.

Equipment: Benches for each team to sit on.

This is a game I learnt when I did a YMCA leaders course thing and is similar to "Who stole the Cookie from the Cookie Jar."

Rule 1: Every team must shout their responses

Now the rest of the rules:
Organise the benches so that they are one behind the other. Each bench will have a number associated with it. The one at the front being 1, the next being 2 and so up to the back. Each team then sits on the benches with their arms linked. Each team then has a number depending on what bench they are sitting on. So if they are at the front then they are number 1 the team behind them number 2 blah blah blah.

The person organising the game then starts it by saying something like
"The priest of the parish has lost his pants and I think it was number 2" (This is actually wrong but it will do. You can accuse any number)
The team on bench two then stands up and has to say:
"Not I sir"
The person running the game says:
"Then who sir"
And team two stands up and accuses a different team by saying:
"Number [insert number here] Sir"
That team then has to deny that claim by saying:
"Not I sir" Team two says:
"Then who sir"
And so it continues.

Important things in this game is every time a team has to say something EVERY team member must stand up and say the appropriate line, EVERY Team member must accuse the same team. If any Team member doesn't stand up, says the wrong line, accuses someone different to the rest of their team ect. That team loses. When a team loses that team must move the back bench, and everyone behind them moves forward. This means they now have a different number according to the bench they are sitting on. The object is to get to the front and become number One.

Example Game might be:

  1. Host: The Priest of the Parish has lost his pants and I think it was number 3
  2. Team3 [stands up] : Not I Sir!
  3. Host : Then Who sir?
  4. Team 3 [stands up] : Number 4 sir.
  5. Team 4 [Stands up] : Not I sir!
  6. Team 3 [stands up] : Then who sir?
  7. Team 4 [stands up] : Number 1 sir?
  8. Team 1 [stands up] : Not I sir! (One team member doesn't stand up)
  9. Team 1 moves to the back and becomes Team 4. Everyone else moves forward.
       ETC.
